Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Deku Scrub Lockup Walkthrough
Get the Key
Players should begin by pressing ZL to target the key that was left behind by the Deku Scrub. Fans can then grab the key with Echoes of Wisdom‘s Tri, walk backwards to bring the item into Zelda’s cell, and then use the item to open the locked door.
This key can also be used to unlock the cell to the right of Zelda’s, and there are 20 Rupees inside it.
Sneak Past the Deku Scrubs
Echoes of Wisdom players should now head up and enter the door on the left after passing through the short corridor. This door leads to a section in which fans must evade several Deku Scrubs, and here is one way to get through it:
- Push the pot at the bottom of the screen until it comes into contact with the crates on the left.
- Jump into the pot, jump onto the crates, and continue left to bypass the first Deku Scrub.
- Pickup a pot, and place it next to the single crate at the entrance to the next Deku Scrub area.
- Jump into the pot, jump onto the crate, and jump onto the stone platform to the left to bypass the enemies.
- Advance to the beginning of the area with the two rotating Deku Scrubs.
- Grab a crate near the entrance to the area with Tri, and use it to prevent the Deku Scrubs from seeing Zelda as she moves toward the bottom of the room.
- Repeat this process at the bottom to get Zelda to the exit on the left.
There is a blue
Rupee
on a wall near the exit, and players can reach it by pushing a pot against the wall’s shortest section, jumping into the pot, and then jumping onto the wall.
Get the Heart Piece
Players will now find themselves in a room with a locked cell, and the ultimate goal is to exit that room through a door in its top-right corner. However, before fans pursue that undertaking, they should visit an optional room with one of Echoes of Wisdom’s Heart Pieces. To enter that room, players should simply use Tri to move the plants that are pushed against the top wall.
After entering the room with the Heart Piece, players can follow these steps to reach the item:
- Move the bed so that it’s top-right corner touches the bottom-left corner of the Deku Scrub statues.
- Place a brazier on top of the bed’s left side.
- Place the second brazier directly below the brazier on the bed.
- Place the table on top of the bed’s right side.
- Stand on the ground just below the table, and grab the table with Tri.
- Jump up onto the bed’s right side.
- Jump back and left to get onto the brazier on the ground.
- Jump up onto the brazier that is on the bed. Place the table on top of a plant from this position.
- Jump onto the plant, then onto the table, and then across the gap to reach the Heart Piece.
Solve the Bed Puzzle
Zelda fans shoud now leave the Heart Piece room and set their sights on the aforementioned goal: reaching the exit in the top-right corner. Here is how that is done:
- Open the locked door to enter the cell.
- Jump down to the bed, grab it with Tri, and walk up the ramp.
- Place the bed on the edge of the ledge so that it is possible to jump across the gap.
- Grab the second bed with Tri and walk backwards, making sure to fall into the gap.
- Ascend the ramp to elevate the bed further, and then place the bed on top of the entrance to the cell.
- Exit the cell, grab the bed with Tri, and place it next to the brazier.
- Jump onto the bed, then onto the brazier, then across the gap to reach the exit.
Reclaim the Tri Rod
In the next room, players will encounter a Deku Scrub who will ultimately return Zelda’s Tri Rod. This makes it possible to once again use Echoes, and players should summon something (like a Boomerang Boarblin) that is capable of striking the blue device and opening the room’s exit.
Scare the Deku Scrubs
After exiting the room where the Tri Rod was reclaimed, players should pass through the door on the right. Beyond that door, fans will find several Deku Scrubs who are scared of Echoes of Wisdom‘s monsters. Players can get through this section simply by walking past the Deku Scrubs and creating the Echo of a monster when the enemies attempt to pursue Zelda.
Pass Through the Well
After bypassing the Deku Scrubs, players should jump into the well and follow these steps to get through a 2D section:
- Grab the boulder with Tri, and place it atop a crate to make the crate sink.
- Descend into the water, and use a Bombfish to destroy the crates on the right side.
- Pass two Hydrozols, use Bombfish to destroy the crates on the left, and collect the purple Rupee.
- Create a Platboom near the waterfalls on the right, jump onto it, and jump over the waterfalls to continue moving right.
- Pass the Deku Babas, swim all the way to the right, and use Tri to move the boulder that is against the right wall.
- Place a Platboom beneath the fast water on the right, and use it to reach the Might Crystal.
- Swim to the fast water on the left, place a Platboom beneath it, and use it to reach the ladder.
- Climb the ladders to exit Deku Scrub Lockup.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Where to Go After Deku Scrub Lockup
Players will receive Echoes of Wisdom‘s Membership Card as soon as they escape Deku Scrub Lockup. This item makes it possible to enter the Stilled Faron Wetlands in the northeast corner of the region, and that area ultimately leads to the Faron Temple.
