Xbox Game Pass subscribers who are signed up for the Ultimate tier currently have two games to look forward to in September 2025. The main selling point of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is to get access to brand-new, day one releases. The service has gone above and beyond in 2025, giving subscribers day one access to some no-brainer Game of the Year contenders.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have been able to play modern masterpieces like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Blue Prince with their subscriptions, and there are plenty of other big games to look forward to in the near future. For example, Gears of War: Reloaded is right around the corner, scheduled to join the lineup on August 26. September looks relatively bare at the moment with only two games confirmed, but there will almost certainly be more announced in the weeks ahead.
While there aren’t that many new games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in September 2025 so far, what has been announced is exciting. Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to Game Pass Ultimate on September 4 following a long six-year wait. Hollow Knight: Silksong stars Hornet as the protagonist and will feature similar tough-as-nails combat and platforming that fans enjoyed from the original game. Its surprise release date announcement has caused other games to shuffle their release plans, so it should make for a huge addition to the service.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can also look forward to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor on September 17. A Deep Rock Galactic-themed take on the Vampire Survivors shoot ’em up style of gameplay, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has been well-received in early access and will finally be enjoying its full release soon. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get to play the game in its entirety on day one, and should mark their calendars accordingly.
More games will undoubtedly be confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass September 2025 lineup sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, we already know of some stuff on deck for October and November. The Xbox Game Pass October 2025 lineup is looking especially stacked, with Ball x Pit coming on October 15, Keeper launching October 17, Ninja Gaiden 4 releasing October 21, Bounty Star and Moonlighter 2 confirmed for October 23, and the highly-anticipated Outer Worlds 2 launching October 29. Only one game has been announced for November so far, but it’s a heavy hitter in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Needless to say, the next three months are going to be incredibly busy for Game Pass subscribers, especially those signed up for PC Game Pass or the Ultimate tier.
