The Mesa update in PEAK is finally here, and it has brought loads of new content for players to check out. There are new items to collect, new achievements, and even a new biome to explore. But that’s not all, because the update also brings back an old material from earlier versions of the game: the Strange Gem.
PEAK already had plenty of mysterious items, and now with the Strange Gem making a return, there’s one more mystery for players. So, how do you find the Strange Gem in PEAK, and what can you do with it? Let’s take a look.
How to Get the Strange Gem in PEAK
Players can get the Strange Gem by interacting with the statue at the very top of the peak. If you’ve been playing for a bit, you’ll know that the game has different biomes. After clearing each one, you will eventually come across an Ancient Statue. You can use them to cook food, get a Morale Boost, and even revive your dead teammates. If all your teammates are already alive, the statue will hand over some rare loot instead.
When you clear the final biome and make it to the very top, you will reach the statue. This one’s a bit different from other statues in PEAK. It doesn’t hand out mystical items or bring teammates back. Instead, it gives you the Strange Gem.
This statue is located at the back of the mountain, so it’s easy to miss if you don’t know its location. Once you find it, interact with it. You’ll see the gem in its hands, and its bright pink color makes it easy to notice from a distance. You can collect it like any other item.
What to Do with the Strange Gem in PEAK
At the time of writing, the Strange Gem doesn’t really do anything useful. Sure, it looks fancy, but that’s about it. We even tried offering it to the kiln for the new 24 Karat badge that says you need to ‘offer the kiln a worthy sacrifice,’ but no luck.
The Strange Gem won’t heal you, cure any status effects, or give you any powers. Strangely enough, you can throw it like Dynamite, which is kind of funny, but there’s really no other reason to get it.
Having said that, there’s always a chance it might have a purpose in a future update. If that happens, we will be sure to update this guide so you know exactly what to do with it.
