Looking for a great pair of earbuds that won’t cost you hundreds of dollars? The Anker Soundcore Space A40 already make a great proposition at their full $40 list price, and Anker has knocked them down to just $45 on Amazon, a discount of almost 50 percent. They have excellent feature support, a great sound profile, and come in five different attractive and eye-catching colors.

Despite the low price tag, these pack a surprisingly competent feature set. We were immediately impressed by the active noise canceling, particularly when it comes to tuning out lower frequencies. They’re excellent for cutting out the busy sounds of city life, letting you sink into the music and not the passing cars and trucks. They aren’t quite as sharp for higher frequencies like talking and clicking, but depending on your use case that may not be as much of a problem.

The fit and finish is actually pretty decent for how little you’re paying. They have a comfortable sizing that stays put in your ears, and the generous inclusion of five differently sized tips will make sure that all ears are welcome at the party. The battery life is on par with, or better than, more expensive competitors too. We got up to seven or eight hours on a single charge with noise-canceling enabled, for a total of around 40 hours including the extra juice in the charging case.

You can customize a ton of the A40’s attributes, from the way the touch controls work to the sound profile. They even have a proper multiband equalizer, so you can tune the response to exactly your preference and genre of choice.

While the Anker Soundcore Space A40 come in a variety of colors, only a few are actually discounted as I write this. You can grab them in black, blue, or white at the most discounted $45 price, or pay a slightly higher $60 for the purple pair. The final color, a pale green, isn’t currently marked down, unfortunately. If you’re curious what spending a little more would look like, make sure to check out our full roundup of the best wireless earbuds for all the bigger name options.
