The amazingly thin wallpaper design from LG is back. The first Wallpaper TV was released back in 2017, and it’s been six years since we saw the last one. But LG has revived the product line with the LG OLED evo W6, and I’ve seen it here at CES.

The TV body is only 9mm thick (which is actually a bit more than the last model), thanks to a completely reengineered internal architecture. A new wall mount also allows the TV to sit completely flush against the wall, and the W6 uses the Zero Connect Box, so no cable is needed between the TV and box (although the TV will still need to be plugged in for power). The Zero Connect Box can be placed up to 10 meters (about 33 feet) away and includes a full complement of inputs.

Included with the W6 is LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology, which improves black level performance, color, and brightness. The Wallpaper TV was engineered to achieve the lowest reflectance of any LG TV and is the first TV in the industry to earn Reflection Free with Premium certification from the Intertek testing and certification labs. It has Brightness Booster Ultra, which will also be on the LG G6, to further improve the brightness capability of LG’s OLEDs. Thanks to Brightness Booster Ultra, LG says the G6 will see a 20 percent increase in brightness over the G5 (which I measured at over 2,400 nits), but they haven’t revealed the peak brightness of the W6.

LG’s Gallery+ service will be available on the W6 Wallpaper TV (and the rest of LG’s TV lineup), which offers over 4,500 images to display while it’s not being used for movies, TV, or gaming. The W6 will support up to a 165Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and is G-Sync compatible.

The W6 Wallpaper TV will be available in 77- and 83-inch sizes.
