- How to Use Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley
Fire Quartz is a much less common version of Quartz in Stardew Valley and has even more uses. This gem can often be found in any mining area in Pelican Town and beyond and has a higher selling value than the basic Quartz.
This gem is a lot more special than you might think, and it can’t be found as easily as regular Quartz. It requires a bit more searching and unlocking higher floors in the Mines. This guide will show you exactly where you can find some Fire Quartz with ease and how you can use them to your advantage.
Stardew Valley: All Artifact Locations
Looking to complete the museum collection in Stardew Valley? Here’s where you can find every artifact in the game.
How to Get Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley
Fire Quartz can be found in a few different locations and through a couple of methods. This includes:
- Foraging in the Mines (Floor 80 and above)
- Found in Magma Geodes
- Found in Omni Geodes
- Found in Fishing Chests
- Obtained from Panning
The easiest method of all of them is by foraging for Fire Quartz in the Mines. Keep in mind that you will need to at least be at Floor 80 to start spotting them, otherwise you’ll only come up with regular Quartz. They will often appear at these higher levels, so if you’re really focused on picking up multiple, the Mines will be your best friend.
As for the other methods, it’s also possible to get Fire Quartz out of some Magma or Omni Geodes that you pick up while mining, but this isn’t guaranteed. There are a lot of different things that can come out of these Geodes, so it’s best to stick to the Mines. The same thing goes with Fishing Chests and Panning.
Stardew Valley: How to Get Emerald
Despite being a common gem, Emerald is a scarce resource in Stardew Valley—unless you follow these farming strategies.
How to Use Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley
Fire Quartz can be used for more than just selling, especially since it has a much lower profit than a gem like Diamonds. For Fire Quartz, here’s what you can do:
- Used in the Geologist’s Bundle in the Community Center Boiler Room
- Used to create a Slime Egg-Press
- Used to create Refined Quartz
- Can be used to tailor a red shirt
- Can be used in Help Wanted Board quests and Fish Pond quests
You’re going to need a Fire Quartz if you want to complete the Community Center’s Geologist’s Bundle. If you’re on the JojaMart route, then you won’t need to worry about this, so the other option is to use your Fire Quartz to make Slime Egg-Presses. To make this, you will also need 25 Coal and 1 Battery Pack, and it will compress 100 pieces of slime into a slime egg. This is great for anyone looking to build up their Slime Hutch.
You can also use Fire Quartz to make Refined Quartz, and when you use it in the Furnace, you’ll get 3 Refined Quartz instead of 1. Fire Quartz often appears on the Help Wanted Board as well, so you’ll want to save a few for these. Otherwise, if you just want to sell or get rid of them, they can get you up to 130g.
