Stardew Valley Fan Creates Awesome Clay Diorama of Their Farm With a Neat Twist

A Stardew Valley fan has showcased their sculpting talents by making an incredibly detailed diorama of their in-game farm. This Stardew Valley fan artist even went further by giving the diorama an awesome two-in-one design: the farm was sculpted to look like it was part of a shipping bin from the game.

Stardew Valley has amassed a huge following over the years, and that player base has recently seen a resurgence with the release of Update 1.6 earlier in 2024. This massive update from the game’s creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, brought tons of new content, including new festivals, items, and character dialogue. With the update reviving many fans’ love of the game and bringing new gamers into the community, some have been paying tribute to the classic indie game in unique ways.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as Whole-Tangelo-1707 shared pictures of their recent Stardew Valley clay model project. Specifically, the artist decided to create the layout of their in-game farm, featuring everything from crops and buildings to fruit trees and a pond. However, the art was even more impressive because they put a neat twist on the design: the farm was sculpted to be part of a shipping bin from Stardew Valley.

Similarly to the farm diorama, the shipping bin was intricately detailed, featuring a realistic woodgrain and silver handle. As a nice touch, the creator even included the sky and mountains from Stardew Valley‘s title screen in the interior of top of the shipping bin design, creating a charming vista when open. The Reddit user even included a coin next to the clay model to give a sense of scale.

The response to the player’s creation has been overwhelmingly positive on the Stardew Vallery subreddit, with the post gaining more than 16K upvotes in only a day. Among the comments, many loved the two-in-one design idea featuring the shipping bin from the game. In addition, fans were impressed to learn this was Whole-Tangelo-1707’s first polymer clay model. Some liked the artwork so much that they recommended the creator sell them on Etsy. While fans will have to wait and see if Whole-Tangelo-1707 will choose to do this, they revealed in the comments that they plan on making more shipping bins housing different areas around Pelican Town.

Beyond this neat two-in-one design from Whole-Tangelo-1707, many other fans have shared their creations on social media. For example, another fan recently started an ambitious project of recreating the locations of Stardew Valley as isometric art, putting a different perspective on Pelican Town. With the active player numbers for the game still flourishing on platforms like Steam, the game will continue to be a source of inspiration for artistic fans for a long time to come.
