Developer Netmarble has announced that Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive will be released on November 17, 2025, for PC, with Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 ports planned for 2026. Alongside the release date, Netmarble also shared new details about Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive‘s gameplay that are likely to interest fans of the South Korean franchise.
Arise Overdrive was first revealed during June’s Xbox Game Showcase, teasing a new action RPG experience with co-op multiplayer. Fans have since been confused about many aspects of this upcoming installment, especially because it shares a similar name with a gacha-style mobile game developed and published by the same team. That said, the current release date announcement includes a developer note that clarifies how the two games will differ and what makes the new title stand out.
Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive’s Release Date
According to Netmarble, Arise Overdrive‘s release will be divided into two phases. The first phase will see the game launch on Xbox PC and Steam on November 17, 2025, while the second phase will bring the game to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in 2026. The developer has assured fans that the $40 title is a standalone RPG with a completely different gameplay experience and progression system from the mobile game. There will be no gacha or RNG elements, with most of the items and cosmetics obtainable through crafting and story progression. The visuals are also promised to meet modern console standards while staying true to the Solo Leveling manhwa’s distinctive style.
One of the most interesting features in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is the addition of customization. For the first time, fans of protagonist Sung Jinwoo will be able to change his look with various hairstyles and outfit options. Players can also personalize some aspects of Jinwoo’s fellow Hunters, though customization there appears limited to hair color and style. The game will also introduce pet companions called Yaruru, cute shadows that assist with gathering resources and picking up items.
As for the multiplayer experience, players will be able to form teams of four to hunt down monsters. According to Netmarble, a party can consist of four Sung Jinwoo characters or a mix of other well-known Solo Leveling Hunters. Each team can explore dungeons and face boss battles with action-packed gameplay featuring new mechanics, including OVERDRIVE, which unleashes a unique ultimate move when certain conditions are met.
Those eager to play Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive before its global release on November 17 can preorder the game now to receive three-day early access starting November 14. Fans of the genre may also want to keep an eye on the recently announced The Player Who Can’t Level Up, another action game based on a popular manhwa. While it doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, it’s expected to arrive soon.
