Where To Find Flesh Lip In Silent Hill 2 Remake
Just like in the original, James Sunderland encounters Flesh Lip at the end of Brookhaven Hospital. Once you finally catch up with Laura on the third floor, a cutscene will trigger where she and James have an argument about Mary.
Following a heated argument, Laura locks James inside a hospital room, where another cutscene plays and Flesh Lip, trapped in a metal cage, drops from the ceiling. The Flesh Lip is exactly what its name states, a fleshy monster with human limbs and a pair of lips.
Before facing Flesh Lip, make sure you have thoroughly explored Brookhaven Hospital and

, as you won’t be able to visit the hospital in its current state again.
How To Beat Flesh Lip In The Silent Hill 2 Remake
Unlike the original game, Flesh Lip is more powerful and has a diverse set of attacks. Like some other bosses in Silent Hill 2 Remake, the boss fight is divided into two phases. During the first phase, Flesh Lip remains confined within its cage, limiting its movement and attack options. Once the cage is destroyed, the Flesh Lip breaks free and enters the second phase, where it gets another set of arms and new moves.
Phase One
In the first phase of the fight, Flesh Lip mostly stays above the ceiling and occasionally bursts through to surprise James. To avoid being crushed by Flesh Lip’s cage, it’s important to keep moving and watch the ceiling carefully. When the tiles begin to tremble, it’s a sign that they are about to collapse, and you need to move quickly to avoid being struck by the Flesh Lip.
Although it’s possible to attack the Flesh Lip while it’s moving, the most effective strategy is to target it when the cage drops from the ceiling. Avoid shooting Flesh Lip’s body while it’s caged, as your shots will be deflected. Instead, focus on attacking its arms or legs with your ranged weapons, like the Shotgun.
If you manage to shoot its hand, Flesh Lip will be stunned, giving you a brief opening to attack with your Steel Pipe or firearms. Once the creature recovers, it will return to the ceiling and continue its assault.
After landing several shots on Flesh Lip’s cage, you’ll notice it starting to crack. Once the cage breaks apart, Flesh Lip will be completely free and its metallic arms will unfold, signaling phase two of the fight.
Don’t use all of your ammo in Phase 1. Save them for Phase 2, when Flesh Lip is freed from the cage and more vulnerable.
Phase Two
With its four arms revealed, Flesh Lip gets access to new and more powerful attacks. This creature is now free to move around and chase James around the room. It can deliver devastating blows with its arms, which is why you need to maintain a safe distance at all times. Try to shoot its fleshy middle or legs, avoiding its metal-plated body. If you notice Flesh Lip raising its arms, dodge sideways to escape.
Flesh Lip’s long arms allow it to reach James from most parts of the room and dodging is the only way to avoid getting hit. Another of Flesh Lip’s attacks involves rapidly spinning on the spot with its outstretched arms. This attack can seriously damage James if he doesn’t move out of the way. It may also jump back onto the ceiling and position itself to try and drop right above James, catching him off guard and inflicting significant damage. Stay vigilant and keep moving to avoid getting hurt.
While melee attacks might have been effective in the first phase, they should be avoided entirely in the second phase due to Flesh Lip’s increased agility and powerful attacks. Instead, use your Shotgun or Handgun to land ranged attacks on Flesh Lip’s fleshy areas. If you’re low on ammo, use a hit-and-run strategy with your melee weapon to attack Flesh Lip.
Continue attacking Flesh Lip to drain its health. Even though it’s faster and more aggressive, Flesh Lip is vulnerable without its cage, making it easier to hurt using your weapons in Silent Hill 2. Once you deal enough damage and defeat Flesh Lip, you’ll be free to leave Brookhaven Hospital and continue your journey through the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
