September 2024 is Already Looking Huge for PlayStation Plus

While the full lineup of everything coming to PlayStation Plus in September 2024 has yet to be revealed, what has been announced has ensured that next month is already an impressive one for the subscription service. PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to fresh content each and every month, but some months are certainly more exciting than others.

For example, there are some months when PS Plus subscribers get bonus freebies on top of the monthly free games, and there are others when the Extra tier gets a day one game. As it so happens, both of those scenarios apply to the September 2024 PS Plus lineup, set to be one of the biggest months of the service of the entire year.

Two day one games have already been confirmed for PlayStation Plus in September 2024, with one coming to the PS Plus Essential tier and the other set to be a part of the Extra tier. On the Essential side of things, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to claiming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions free of charge on the very day of its release. They will also be treated to the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions pre-order bonus, which is the extra freebie for September 2024. As far as the Extra tier goes, it’s been confirmed that The Plucky Squire is coming to PS Plus Extra as a day one game on September 17, which is a big deal since the game is anticipated to be one of the better indies released all year.

PS Plus September 2024 Lineup So Far

For those unfamiliar with the games, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a new sports game with a single-player career and online multiplayer. It’s the latest Harry Potter video game effort and comes a little over a year after the beloved Hogwarts Legacy hit store shelves. Quidditch Champions gameplay has looked impressive so far, but time will tell how it stacks up compared to other Harry Potter video games. Luckily, PS Plus subscribers will be able to find out for free through their subscription. As long as PS Plus subscribers claim Quidditch Champions while it’s free and remain subscribed to PS Plus, it will be theirs to keep forever.

The Plucky Squire, meanwhile, is an indie that has been hotly anticipated by gamers for years. Plucky Squire blends 2D and 3D action and draws inspiration from franchises like The Legend of Zelda. 2D sections take place in a storybook, while the 3D levels are set in the “real” world outside of the story book. It’s a fascinating concept and being able to play it on day one with PS Plus Extra is awesome.

Of course, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and The Plucky Squire are really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the PlayStation Plus September 2024 lineup. There will be more free games given away next month, not to mention plenty more titles added to the Extra and Premium tiers. What those games may be remains to be seen, but PS Plus subscribers should keep an eye out for more information.
