Schedule 1 Players Have a Serious Gripe With the New Cartel Update

The highly anticipated Schedule 1 Cartel update was finally released in beta earlier this week, but fans have already discovered a major gameplay flaw that they want to see changed as soon as possible. Schedule 1 may still be in early access, but the popular crime simulation game has already received a steady stream of content updates since its release in March. Its latest patch, the Cartel update, is undoubtedly the biggest one to date.

After a few short delays, Tyler, the sole developer and creator of Schedule 1, finally released the Cartel update on August 13. The patch adds tons of new content to the game, including a rival cartel gang known as the Benzies family. While players will need to progress through the game before running into the Benzies, when they do, they’ll open up a myriad of new features and elements to play with, including ambushes, dead-drop theft, dealer robbings, the ability to deal with the cartel while under a truce, and more. Unfortunately, given the sheer size of Schedule 1‘s Cartel update, it has come with a fair share of teething problems.

Schedule 1 Players Want Shotgun Shells Changed

Players have already been discovering some questionable new money-making methods in the latest Schedule 1 update, but now the community is calling for some big changes. In a new post on the game’s subreddit, user GottaB3KiddingM3 pointed out that only being able to purchase one shotgun shell at a time is a “grind,” and sarcastically questioned, “Are we serious?” Others seem to agree, as a separate post from a different user said their “main gripe” with the update is having to buy shells individually. “Takes forever,” the user said. “Hopefully they add just buying boxes or something soon.”

As of writing, the update is only available in Schedule 1‘s beta branch, so gameplay issues and bugs are to be expected. Tyler hasn’t provided fans with a firm release date for the patch’s full release, so anybody looking to test out the update will need to opt in to the beta branch. To do so, simply navigate to Steam, right-click the game, navigate to Properties, then select Betas and change the Beta Participation to Beta. While doing this will allow players to check out the update before it’s full release, there have been a handful of issues already discovered by the community, so those looking for a seamless gameplay experience might want to wait until the update is officially released.

Despite the fact that the current Schedule 1 update is still in beta, Tyler already appears to be hard at work on new features for the game’s next patch. In a new post on Twitter, which came just hours after the release of the Cartel update, Tyler published a short clip of a new graffiti feature for Schedule 1. The developer said the feature will be added to the game in the next beta update, or possibly the one after that. Aside from the addition of graffiti, it’s unclear what Tyler intends to work on next.
