Resident Evil Survival Unit Cinematic Trailer Sets the Stage
A new cinematic trailer has given fans a look at the cast of characters from the Resident Evil franchise that will appear in this mobile spin-off game. As it’s a cinematic trailer, there’s no gameplay, but it nonetheless serves to amp up hype around the title. The trailer showcases the new lead character arriving on the scene alongside Claire Redfield. Players taking control of this character will give commands and directions to those who actually fight, as the title is a strategy horror game.
There’s plenty in this trailer that fans will likely be familiar with, including swarms of mindless zombies, plus bigger, more dangerous creatures. As the trailer progresses, fans can spot a ton of familiar faces, including Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Carlos Oliveira, Marvin Branagh, Mikhail Viktor, and even a brief glimpse of Ada Wong. Characters in the trailer utilize multiple types of weapons, ranging from their standard sidearms to more memorable firepower-heavy varieties, like giving Leon a rocket launcher and Jill her railgun from Resident Evil 3 Remake. A brief tease also indicates that some of the franchise’s terrifying boss enemies will return, including a giant crocodile, Mr. X, and Nemesis. The new Mortem antagonist, which was designed by legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano, also makes an appearance.
Gamers inspired by the sight of these popular characters in Resident Evil Survival Unit can pre-register for the game now, with the title slated to launch sometime in 2025. According to the game’s website, the title has already reached its goal of 1 million pre-registrations, which has unlocked a number of freebies that will be distributed when the game launches.
