Pokemon TCG Live is giving away a set of free cards with its newest redemption code, allowing players to pick up stunning Illustration Rare cards of a set of Ice Pokemon. The online version of the beloved trading card game offers a plethora of cards for players to craft and pull through packs, lining its release schedule up with the physical game. Players can open packs from as old as the Sun & Moon era, with Pokemon TCG Live supporting both Standard and Expanded play formats. Now, fans can pick up some free cards in the digital game.
Pokemon TCG Live often gives away a plethora of free cards, both through each new set’s battle pass and special promotions. The rotating battle pass typically features a handful of Illustration Rare and Hyper Rare cards as rewards for reaching different levels, typically focused on the game’s newest expansion. TCG Live also occasionally offers special promotional codes that players can redeem for some in-game rewards, recently launching a reward code for Illustration Rare cards of the Swords of Justice. A new Pokemon code is now giving out even more full art cards.
Pokemon TCG Live officially unveiled a brand-new redemption code players can use to pick up some free Illustration Rare cards. Players can use the code “SUMMERFREEZE25” in Pokemon TCG Live to pick up free Illustration Rare copies of the Vanillite evolution line, gifting Vanillite, Vanillish, and Vanilluxe. The trio of cards all come from the Pokemon TCG‘s new “White Flare” expansion, with players currently unable to craft full-art cards from the game’s newest set. The promo code will be redeemable in Pokemon TCG Live for just over a month, expiring on October 9.

While the trio of Pokemon TCG Live cards are not the most competitively viable options, they are still rather elusive in TCG Live. Pokemon TCG Live implemented a major change to card crafting with the release of the “Journey Together” expansion, requiring players to wait six months before crafting any “overnumbered cards” in TCG Live. The change makes it significantly harder for players to acquire Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare cards, needing to pull the cards from packs during the waiting period.
Pokemon TCG Live, much like its physical counterpart, looks to have some exciting new expansions on the way throughout the rest of the year. The “Mega Evolution” set in late September will officially mark the return of Mega Pokemon to the game, with 10 new Mega Evolution Pokemon ex making their debuts in the set. The Pokemon TCG has also already begun to tease the following set as well, with “Phantasmal Flames” set to focus on Charizard with its November release. Pokemon fans should have lots to look forward to with several major new sets on the way.
