A Pokemon fan artist took to social media to share what they believed the powerful Bug Pokemon Scizor would look like if it were a Fairy-type critter instead. The Pokemon fan artist’s concept of a Fairy-type Scizor kept most of the base features intact, but added some distinct markings and a different color body to make it stand out.
Known as the Pincer Pokemon, Scizor first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver as an evolution of Scyther. Originally, Scizor could not be caught in the wild and instead required Pokemon trainers to trade a Scyther while it held a Metal Coat to evolve it. Scizor is a Bug and Steel dual-type monster with high attack and defense statistics and access to moves like X-Scissor and Iron Head. Four generations after its initial debut, Scizor received a Mega Evolution in Pokemon X and Y, which further amplified its battle capabilities. Mega Scizor will return to the franchise alongside other Mega Pokemon in the upcoming title, Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Fan Artist Imagines Scizor As A Fairy-Type Critter
While other Pokemon fan artists have depicted Scizor as a demon among other things, one artist chose to give the popular Bug-type Pokemon a fae-themed makeover. On the Pokemon subreddit, known fan artist Just-Drawing-Mons revealed a Fairy-type Scizor as their latest piece of handiwork. Scizor’s main body was changed from a primarily red color scheme to shades of pink reminiscent of other Fairy-type Pokemon like Sylveon and Tinkaton. Scizor’s pincers were altered to look like giant fins or fans. The new pincers on the Fairy-type Scizor concept also had some heart-shaped indents to go with its two-toned color scheme.
A mix of hot pink, pastel pink, and white was used in Just-Drawing-Mon’s new design. Scizor’s head and abdomen also featured heart-shaped patterns, and its wings were altered to have less plating on the top side. Scizor’s eyes remained yellow, and an additional spike was shown on the back of its head. Though no details about the Fairy-type Scizor’s moves or abilities were revealed, its reputation for having high attack and defense stats would likely make it one of the strongest Fairy-types in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and other games.
In response to Just-Drawing-Mons’ latest work, Pokemon trainers compared Fairy Scizor to other Pokemon like Lurantis, while another trainer stated its claws were reminiscent of ice cream scoops rather than fans. With Scizor and its Mega form set to appear in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it remains to be seen what fans will create next.
