Rumors about a Core i9-13980HX processor have been confirmed thanks to MSI. Next-gen Raider GE78HX gaming laptop tested with Geekbench software. The product name suggests that this model will get a design upgrade, so the chassis may differ from his GE77HX model of the current generation.
According to the leak, the interior is going to get a major upgrade. From 16-core Alder Lake CPU options to 24-core Raptor Lake CPUs. The system seems to offer up to the Core i9-13980HX CPU, which is considered the flagship of the new series. The processor is reported to boost up to 5.6 GHz and this leak confirms just that. Detailed Geekbench data shows the CPU boosting to 5.56 GHz with an average clock of 5.48 GHz.

The CPU running this benchmark has already been confirmed, but on a different system. ASUS Strix G16 and G18 reportedly has the same processor, but it actually scored a bit lower than the MSI GE78HX. In this case the i9-13980HX scores him 2097 points and 22062 points in his Geekbench CPU computing benchmarks for single and multi-core.

This score is higher than both single and multi-core performance of any known 13th Gen core mobile CPU and is within 4% of the Ryzen 9 7950X desktop CPU. However, given that the i9-13980HX is a desktop silicon repurposed for high-end mobile systems, and the Geekbench software is a relatively short benchmark, this shouldn’t be too surprising. That’s short enough to sustain a 157W turbo boost for the entire benchmarking process.
