A new player of Stardew Valley somehow managed to put a storage chest in an inaccessible area on their farm, and it’s got fellow fans confused and amused. The moment would be a weird one for established fans of Stardew Valley, but it has to be a particularly frustrating moment for a new player to experience.
Many Stardew Valley fans have dedicated dozens, if not hundreds or more, hours to the game and yet still manage to be surprised. However, the game continues to attract new players as well, drawn in by the appeal of a charming, laid-back farming sim that lets the player take everything at their own pace. While there’s arguably no wrong way to play Stardew Valley, that doesn’t mean that fans don’t make mistakes from time to time, and this unusual mistake stirs both sympathy and amusement in fellow players.

Stardew Valley Player Accidentally Traumatizes Jas
An unfortunate blunder has left one of Stardew Valley’s youngest residents a little traumatized after what was meant to be an innocent trip into town.
On Reddit, a user by the name of HeyLochNess shared an image they took that their sister had sent them, who is playing the game for the first time on the Nintendo Switch. In it, the sister asks how they can put things away in their Chest , with a screenshot of their character standing near it. The image elicited laughter from the user, because the chest has been set down on top of the wood stack near front door of the Stardew Valley player’s farmhouse.
Why the Chest Placement is a Problem
As fans of Stardew Valley know, the area there is inaccessible, and typically, nothing can be permanently placed there. It’s not clear how the fan managed to pull this off, but the mistake has likely rendered the chest unusable, making it a waste of resources and time. To make matters worse, picking the chest up again will likely be impossible until the house can be moved. However, moving the main farmhouse only became possible in the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, which hasn’t yet released for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
Stardew Valley isn’t a terribly buggy game, but odd things like this can still end up happening. With any luck, this player will be able to get the chest back in the future. Thankfully, it seems as though they hadn’t actually put anything in it yet, so they’re not cut off from any of their supplies or equipment. It’s likely still frustrating, though, especially considering that the farmer has limited resources and energy early on in Stardew Valley, so having to work to make a new one could be a hassle.
