Summary
- Some Digi-evolutions are cataclysmic: ZeedMillenniummon and Apocalymon can erase worlds.
- Royal Knights and Jogress fusions (Examon, Alphamon Ooryuken, Gallantmon X) wield near-unstoppable might.
- Godlike Digimon are rare, feared, and playable only in select titles like DMO or Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
In terms of raw power, some Digi Evolutions or Jogress (DNA Evolutions) are just so OP that the balance of the Digital World shifts forever depending on their actions. These Digimon are so powerful that they are rarely seen alongside a Tamer or Chosen One, and are considered seats of power or part of a legend. In some cases, their core function is to bring about the end of the Digital (and sometimes real) World.
These massive Digital Monsters have long been considered for long the most notorious, not only for their broken abilities, but also their power levels, size, and the complexity of the processes that drive their Digievolutions. Here are the most overpowered Digimon players will meet in the games.
ZeedMilleniummon
The Definitive Final Boss
- Power Rank: SSS
- Type: VIRUS
- Phase: Mega
This massive Digimon of the size of a planet, roams the space of the Digital World, destroying worlds all around, and warping between time and dimensions thanks to its godlike powers. If Apocalymon is the destroyer of the Digital World by nature, then ZeedMilleniummon is the destroyer of the universe. His Time Destroyer ultimate move is so powerful that it basically warps time itself, turning any Digimon that faces it into a scramble of Data devoid of life.
And that’s not even a fraction of its power, since this beast can snuff out a whole galaxy in a fraction of a second. However, its cruelty towards all living things makes it arrogant and confident enough to let some ‘heroes’ defy it in single combat. Perhaps, that’s the only weakness this creature has, since it can be stopped, but it cannot be completely destroyed, since it will return to a ‘Chained’ dormant state, warping through Dark Matter until it recovers millennia later. What’s most scary about Zeed Millenniumon is that this is only its Mega form, and rumor says (besides its Moon form) it has a Burst Mode that is infinitely more powerful.
Examon
Ruler Of All Dragons, Knight Savior
- Power Rank: SS++
- Type: DATA
- Phase: Jogress
The fusion of Slayerdramon and Breakdramon, two Mega Digimon from the Dracomon line, results in the massive and virtuous Examon: The Spear Dragon Knight. Examon is the most powerful Data Digimon of them all, with massive size and raw firepower thanks to a combination of Holy and Draconic abilities. He occupies a privileged seat among the Royal Knights as the strongest Digimon of this group of Digital World
Justicars, and also as the Emperor Dragon, the most powerful Digimon of that family.
Examon’s Spear (Ambrose) rivals the power of Gram and Gugnir, and the scales of this Digimon are made of a special alloy of Red Digizoid named Chronodigizoid, the most powerful metal in the Digital World. Its wings are as strong as shields, and it has three main attacks: Avalon Gate, Pendragon’s Glory, and Draconic Impact. Examon is inspired by Uther Pendragon, father of King Arthur, who was also called the Dragon Emperor in one of the origins of this mythological character.
Chaosmon
The Empowered Version Of a Fan Favorite
- Power Rank: SS++
- Type: VACCINE
- Phase: Jogress
When the pinnacle of the Leomon line (BanchoLeomon) and Darkdramon go through Jogress Digi-Evolution, Chaosmon is born. A DNA digimon that retains the pride and honor of Leomon, alongside its unique blade, but also the chaotic and destructive nature of Darkdramon. This Digimon is powerful because it preserves its two DigiCores intact (like Omnimon, Apocalymon, and a few others), but its raw firepower is far greater than many Jogress Digimon, with the sole exception of Examon.
Its signature attack is Bancho Blade, which supercharges Leomon’s Magna Shishomaru (Great Beast King Blade) with the powerf of chaos and launches a powerful attack, slicing everything on its path. Then it has another attack called Dark Prominence, which unleashes the full power of Darkdramon’s line and penetrates the defense of his enemies, reaching their core and destabilizing it, turning its victims into shattered pieces of crystal. Quite a fearsome opponent to face in the Digital World.
Fanglongmon
The Fusion Of Four Divine Digimon
- Power Rank: SS+
- Type: DATA
- Phase: Jogress
Fanglongmon is the biggest and deadliest Cross Digievolutions (Jogress of four Digimon), which results of a combination of the Four Divine Beast Digimon: Azulongmon, Byakkomon, Ebonwumon, and Zhuqiaomon). This Divine Dragon Emperor is said to have ruled the world before the Great Archangels (led by an unnamed proto form of Magna Angemon, Ophanimon, and Rasielmon) descended and sealed this Digimon in the profundity of the Digital World, by dividing its essence and dispersing it in the four cardinal points.
When Azulongmon finally gathered the rest of the Divine Beasts, Fanglongmon descended upon the Digital World once more, there are two games where players can wield its immense power. The first one is Digimon Masters Online, and most recently, in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Be it as it may, this powerful Digimon can completely obliterate the Digital World, but thankfully, it’s not a mindless destructive beast like some Virus-type Digimon.
Alphamon Ooryuken
One Of The Most Powerful Royal Knights
- Power Rank: SS
- Type: VACCINE
- Phase: Jogress
When Alphamon and Oryumon combine, the latter turns into the legendary Oryu Sword (or Ultimate Battle Sword) capable of cutting through the data of any Digimon in the Digital World, no matter how strong their protections are. Alphamon Ooryuken is the result of Jogress Evolution, and is one of the strongest members of the group of Digimon known as Royal Knights. In the canon, there’s only one Alphamon Oryuken, who occupies the seat of power of its predecessor Alphamon, after undergoing Cross Evolution with Oryumon.
In the games, players can wield the power of this massive Dark Knight (especially those who play DMO) and use its powerful technique called Ultimate Blade, to cut through everything. Alphamon Ooryuken has made appearances in various mangas and seasons of the Anime, and every time he enters battle, he leaves a powerful impression on every witness of his incredible abilities.
Gallantmon X
The Most Powerful Version Of Dukemon
- Power Rank: S++
- Type: VIRUS
- Phase: Burst Mode (Special)
Together with Magnamon, Examon, Omnimon, and many others, Gallantmon X is one of the group of Digimon known as Royal Knights, legendary protectors of the Digital World. This particular version of Gallantmon (or Dukemon) has been integrated with the Antibody X, granting his shield supreme durability, and shattering his Digizoid Spear into a bursting spike of deadly plasma.
The armor of this Digimon is made of Chronodigizoid, an amalgam of the purest and hardest metals in the Digital World, so it’s practically impenetrable. Gallantmon X is not only the epitome of defense, but his Lightning Joust move uses Gallantmon’s spear (Gram) to penetrate anything and vaporize any evil Digimon that defies the commands of his liege. The most powerful version of this Gallantmon can be found in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and it is one of the hardest to unlock.
Imperialdramon Paladin Mode
If King Arthur Was A Digimon, It Would Be This One
- Power Rank: S+
- Type: VACCINE
- Phase: Burst Mode
Everyone knows the classic Imperialdramon Fighter Mode from the Digimon Adventure 2 series, but few are aware of its Burst Mode known as Imperialdramon Paladin mode, a powerful Digimon that has gone beyond the Mega level, thanks to the influence of his pride and valiant heart. Imperialdramon PM is inspired by King Arthur, and is also a proud member of the Royal Knights, and he wields an inheritance of the great Omnimon (fallen in battle), the Omega Blade.
This powerful weapon serves as a legacy and source of power inherited from the legendary Holy Knight, and grants Imperialdramon Paladin Mode extreme battle acumen, speed, and the ability to use the Holy attribute to vanquish evil. Fans have the curious theory that a corrupted version of Imperialdramon Paladin Mode exists, which theoretically would have inherited the Dark Omni Blade from Omnimon Zwart (Black Omnimon), and if logic serves as a guide, it might be inspired by Mordred. Though this beast has not been revealed yet in any game or anime, and the closest thing players can find in a game is Imperialdramon Fighter Mode (Black), which is a corrupted version of the original Imperialdramon FM from the Virus Dark-attribute.
Apocalymon
The Destroyer of the Digital World
- Power Rank: S+
- Type: VIRUS
- Phase: Jogress
Apocalymon is the definitive antagonist of the Digital World, and a being that is born of the fusion of the Four Dark Masters (Piedmon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and MetalSeadramon). This being of absolute destruction hides its true shape inside an impenetrable dodecahedron made of corrupted Black Digizoid. It attacks using the accumulated energies from the corrupted Data it destroys and stores inside its mobile fortress, though its true form is that of a malignant creature that poses as a humanoid atop one of the faces of its armor-like body.
This Virus Digimon can use a powerful world-ending move named Darkness-Zone, which is often cast inside a vacuum created with a barrier, to limit its power and eliminate single targets that oppose this tyrannical Digimon. Apocalymon played the role of the final Boss in many Digimon games (and in the S2 of Digimon Adventure), but curiously, the only chance to have this Digimon as a Partner happens in DMO, and it has already been discontinued, so there’s no way to get it today.
