Lost your Meta Neural Band? A new one will cost $199

When you buy the $799 Meta Ray-Ban Display, you aren’t just getting a pair of smart glasses: you’re also getting Meta’s Neural Band, a small wristband that you use to control what’s on the glasses’ display. It’s an essential part of the product.

But, if by some unfortunate circumstance, you need to buy a replacement for the wristband, it’s been unclear how you would do that. The wristband isn’t listed for sale online. One buyer told The Verge that Meta’s customer service said it wasn’t possible to purchase a replacement. That led us to reach out to Meta just to make sure — it was hard to believe that the only solution to a lost Neural Band would be buying an entirely new pair of the smart glasses.

It turns out that Meta actually will let you buy a new Neural Band if you contact customer service, but it’ll cost $199, making for a pretty expensive replacement. Only customers who have already purchased the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and need a band replacement that’s outside of Meta’s limited warranty policy will be able to buy the wristband on its own, according to Meta’s Tyler Yee. If you fall under those requirements, you can reach out to Meta’s customer support to make your case.
