Last Epoch Making Big Improvement to Minions in Season 3

Last Epoch has revealed that minions will get a change with the addition of the Assassinate mode. This feature will be available in the next season of Last Epoch, along with other features that the developers revealed in a post on the game’s official forum.

Released in 2024, Last Epoch is an action RPG that combines time travel, dungeon crawling, extensive character customization options, and high replayability. Last Epoch offers five classes for players to choose from, and masteries to make their experience even more unique. The game also features a season system and is currently in its second season, Tombs of the Erased, which began on April 17 and introduced features including new zones and endgame bosses. The next Last Epoch season is coming in the next few days, and the developers shared important changes that are on the way to the game.

Last Epoch Reveals Assassinate Mode for Minions in Season 3

Last Epoch has revealed that minions will receive the Assassinate mode in Season 3. The post on the game’s official forum explains that with this new mode, minions will focus on enemies from further away, targeting rarer enemies and bosses. Meanwhile, players will be able to switch to the familiar Protect mode, which prioritizes keeping Last Epoch minions close to the player. To know which mode is active, players should note which icon appears next to the minion’s portrait: the two swords represent Assassinate mode, and the shield represents Protect mode. In addition to these changes, Eleventh Hour Games will make improvements to the minions’ target prioritization, so they can continue attacking the same target instead of bouncing between enemies.

Along with enhancements to minion AI, Season 3 will bring improvements to multiple minions from Last Epoch‘s Beastmaster, including the addition of new nodes for the Raptor, Scorpion, and Bear. Addressing a long-standing request from Last Epoch players, they will be able to equip cosmetics in Offline Mode. For the feature to work, all they need to do is play in either offline or online mode once and configure the cosmetics to play without internet access.

Last Epoch Season 3 will begin on Thursday, August 21, and simultaneously with the changes to minions and Offline Mode, the Merchants’ Guild will receive two updates. One is a change to filters to make shopping easier, and the other is the addition of tokens for players to purchase items without paying favors or before unlocking the required rank. With these and other tweaks that the game will receive, the developers aim to enhance the experience of Last Epoch players.
