This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
Jujutsu Kaisen took a sudden and shocking turn after the death of Gojo Satoru in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of the manga. Known to be the strongest modern sorcerer, fans knew very well that Gojo carried the Jujutsu Society on his back before his unfortunate death at the hands of the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. His loss affected the Jujutsu world greatly. After all, his birth did alter the balance of the whole world.
The jujutsu society lost a mighty sorcerer, but it went beyond that. The author revealed quite clearly in Jujutsu Kaisen that the Gojo clan faced a massive threat after the death of Gojo. In fact, some even believed they faced an existential threat. Gege has revealed what happened to the Gojo clan after the war, and how it eventually managed to survive. To put it simply, it all comes down to one character only, and that’s Yuta Okkotsu.

Fans don’t know much about the Gojo clan of Jujutsu Kaisen. All Gege revealed in the story was that the Gojo clan was incredibly powerful and that they held the inherited technique of Limitless, and the cursed trait known as Six Eyes. These powers only awakened in a handful of sorcerers, and they rarely, if ever, awakened together. Gojo was the first in 400 years to have both at the same time. But, thanks to Gojo’s birth, the clan rose in prominence in many ways. The Gojo clan became a superpower in the Jujutsu world thanks to Satoru, but his death hit them hard.

Clearly, other members of the Gojo clan, including Satoru’s very own parents, were weaker than ever before. Other clans also likely wanted to take advantage of this, and as Mei Mei suggested, there could’ve been war between the Gojo and the Kamo families. Thankfully, the Gojo family survived and rebuilt itself. They might not be as powerful as they were before, but they continue.
Yuta Became The Leader of This Gojo Clan

The biggest reason why the Gojo clan continues to be strong today in Jujutsu Kaisen is Yuta Okkotsu. Fans know that Yuta was Gojo’s very own student. He inherited Gojo’s dreams and promised to carry his burdens. If anything, it is hardly surprising that Yuta stepped up in Gojo’s absence to take care of the clan. More than that however, Yuta himself shares a connection to the Gojo clan. He is a descendant of Michizane Sugawara, just like Gojo.
Yuta became the acting head of the Gojo clan. — Narrator
At some point, Yuta became the acting head of the Gojo clan in Jujutsu Kaisen. Decades later, he and Maki had kids and grandkids, and they also belong to the Gojo clan. These kids were seen in the Gojo clan’s premises. Yuta has a grandson and a granddaughter. While not much is known about them, what is clear is that the Gojo clan not only survived, but it ended up thriving, something that cannot be said for the other big 3 family members.
