The National Internet Exchange of India, a non-profit (Section 8) company under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, has received a Certificate of Merit in the ‘Communication and Information Technology Sector’ from the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). The SAFA BPA Awards are considered the most prestigious financial reporting awards in the entire South Asia region.
As announced by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), there were 118 nominations from 7 countries, awarding NIXI as the best annual report. This honor was awarded in recognition of excellence in the presentation and disclosure of high quality, relevant, reliable and objective financial statements in accordance with established international frameworks.

NIXI is a non-profit organization under Article 8 of the Companies Act of 2013 and was registered on June 19, 2003. By taking it all the way to the US/overseas, you get better quality of service (less latency) and lower ISP bandwidth charges by saving international bandwidth. NIXI is managed and operated from a neutral standpoint in line with the best practices of global initiatives. NIXI has three business fields under it.
IXP – Internet Exchange Point (IXP) It is the most important part of the Internet’s infrastructure. An Internet Exchange Point is a feature that allows Internet Service Providers to “meet” and exchange traffic, also known as peering. This saves ISPs international bandwidth costs and reduces latency, thus improving customer connectivity.
Irin – IRINN is a division operating under NIXI that provides Internet Protocol address (IPv4 and IPv6) and autonomous system number allocation and registration services to its affiliates.
.IN Registry – The Government of India has recognized NIXI as an .IN registry. This is the Indian top-level domain on the Internet. Like .COM, .IN can be used for email, websites, and other applications. But unlike other domains, .IN is a unique symbol of India and India’s role in the world. The .IN registry itself does not perform registration. This is done through a number of registrars who are appointed through an open selection process based on transparent eligibility criteria. .IN domain names are currently available to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis.
