update: The latest update to BT status, relayed to third-party provider customers, could take late Tuesday morning to fix a mysterious issue that left most of the town of Lexum without internet and phone. There is today’s data service.
BT or the provider has not provided details on the root cause of the outage. However, the scheduled correction time has been changed to “Tuesday, May 31, 2022 11:45 AM”.
Many residents are aware that in addition to 4G and 5G failures on mobile phones, residential and corporate internet connections are completely disconnected.
We asked BT & Openreach for comments.
update: BT offers three status updates for the same issue. “Sorry, we cannot provide a fix date at this time. Please check again later.” The fix dates are “Monday, May 30, 2022 14:40” and “Sunday, May 29, 2022 19:23”. (Tonight).
The original information below …
Internet and 4G services on some of the lexums are suffering from outages today.
This issue seems to be related to the northern part of the town, and 4G mobile data services are also affected.
BT said, “I’m sorry about the problem. We are currently working on a fix,” and the scheduled fix time is 6:00 pm.
Users of other providers have also reported issues, suggesting broader infrastructure issues rather than a single provider outage.

BT broadband and O24G are down. I had to force 3G on my phone just to get something. It’s also painfully slow.
