Thailand As part of the AMS-IX strategy, we will implement IX in various key regions of Asia.
Thailand is an important and rapidly developing Internet hub in Asia and one of the main places for Internet companies to exchange Internet traffic in addition to Singapore and Hong Kong. A hub and gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), the new Internet Exchange in Bangkok will attract content providers, gaming, OTT, Cloud of service providers and internet service providers Digital community.
Customers connecting to the new Internet Exchange will benefit from reduced operating costs, increased connectivity and redundancy, and reduced latency. By adding another IXP, HGC and AMS-IX, supported by IGC, have further expanded their global footprint and improved connectivity in Asia. Following Bangkok, HGC is also partnering with AMS-IX in Singapore, Hong Kong, the Bay Area and Chicago. HGC will continue to serve as AMS-IX Bangkok’s commercial partner and marketing arm, while IGC will provide IX infrastructure, network and operations in Bangkok. With expertise in peering and network monitoring, AMS-IX provides technical support and operational management of the exchange.
