Infinity Nikki has revealed the key improvements coming in Version 1.9, including an overhaul of co-op in the Sea of Stars, granting PS5 players an option for 60 FPS, as well as new functionality for the Color Lookbook and Photo Mode. While Infinity Nikki has yet to reclaim the goodwill it lost with Version 1.5, Infold has managed to rebuild some of its trust with a string of well-received updates. Version 1.7 was especially praised for its mature storyline, and this trend continued with Version 1.8.
In addition to having a well-written plot, Danqing Season in Infinity Nikki gave players double banners and a brand-new zone inspired by the Linlang Empire. However, Infinity Nikki recently found itself navigating controversy when Infold took an official stance against leaked content. Though the stance itself was harmless, players were put off by the choice of words used in the announcement, especially since Infold had yet to officially address the jarring retcon introduced by Version 1.5.
Infinity Nikki: Version 1.9 Improves the Sea of Stars, Photo Mode, and Color Lookbook
As eyes turn to Version 1.9, players are cautiously excited to see how Infinity Nikki will handle housing โ especially since it has collaborated with Stardew Valley in doing so. However, according to the developers, Version 1.9 will also bring a list of much-needed improvements to Infinity Nikki. Players will finally be able to access Mira Crown, Styling Factions, and Realms while in the Sea of Stars โ the game’s much-maligned co-op hub. While this will make the user experience in the Sea of Stars smoother, the co-op improvements will also allow players to track their quests while adventuring with a friend in Miraland, and may even offer a quick way to leave co-op if the quest requires solo mode.
The other notable upgrade that Version 1.9 will bring is a 60 FPS mode for PlayStation 5, allowing players to switch between 30 FPS and 60 FPS by picking either Graphics or Performance in the game’s settings. In terms of quality-of-life features, Version 1.9 will add a “Quick Delete” option when snapping photos in Infinity Nikki. Furthermore, Leila’s shop will be stocked with new poses for the game’s Photo Mode. As for the Color Lookbook, importing and saving a Dyeing Scheme will now be able to take players directly to the Wardrobe to assemble their desired look.
Lastly, Infinity Nikki addressed the controversy regarding Infold’s stance on leaks. While it did not offer an apology for the initial announcement, it did clarify its intent โ namely, that the Pounding Hammer sent to every player’s mailbox was intended to poke fun at unauthorized leaks, as opposed to being directed at the community at large. Despite this, Infinity Nikki continues its roadmap to Version 2.0, as Version 1.9 is set to launch on September 2, 2025.
