Developer Team Cherry has officially confirmed the Hollow Knight: Silksong release times and price. It’s still somewhat hard to believe, but the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date is right around the corner. The highly-anticipated Metroidvania announced its surprisingly close release date in a trailer that was released during Gamescom week, and soon fans will get to play through the entire game themselves.
In the lead-up to Hollow Knight: Silksong‘s launch, there have been leaks about how much the game will cost and potentially when exactly it will launch. According to the leaks, Hollow Knight: Silksong will retail for $19.99. Considering the dizzying hype behind Hollow Knight: Silksong, it’s safe to say that Team Cherry could have easily gotten away with pricing Silksong at a higher price, but the low cost of entry should ensure that the game literally flies off the digital shelves.

We now know that the leaked Hollow Knight: Silksong price is accurate, and we also know the exact release times for the game. As announced by Team Cherry on Twitter, Hollow Knight: Silksong will cost $19.99 as previously leaked, and it will be released at 7am PT/10am ET/4pm CEST/11pm JST on September 4. This means that there will not be a midnight release for Hollow Knight: Silksong, but it will be available in the morning, the day of the 4th. Anyone planning to take time off work to play Hollow Knight: Silksong should plan accordingly. Presumably, Silksong will hit Xbox Game Pass at the same time as it releases to the masses, so PC and Ultimate tier subscribers should keep an eye out.
Hollow Knight fans have been waiting six years to play Silksong, and so it’s surreal that the agonizingly long wait is nearly at an end. Now the only question is whether Silksong can live up to the ridiculous hype that’s been built around it. The original Hollow Knight was an excellent game, and so chances are Silksong will be quite good as well, especially considering how long it was in development for. Silksong will not have any early reviews because Team Cherry doesn’t want to give anyone early access to the game, so it will definitely be interesting to see how it’s ultimately received.
The expectations for Silksong are high, to say the least. Multiple games have delayed their release dates to avoid competing with Silksong, after all. Time will tell if Silksong was worth the wait, but fans don’t have to wait much longer to find out. September 4 is right around the corner, and at that point, Hollow Knight fans can play through Silksong in its entirety.
