Garmin Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570 were launched on Thursday by the US-based technology firm. They are equipped with circular OLED touchscreen displays and are available in a 47mm size. The Garmin Forerunner 570 model is also sold in an more compact 42mm option. Both newly-launched watches are equipped with blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and skin temperature sensors. They also offer support for Garmin’s Triathlon Coach training plan and custom step-by-step multisports workout routines. Both smart wearables are compatible with the Garmin Connect app.

Garmin Forerunner 970 price in the US is set at $749.99 (roughly Rs. 64,200), while the Garmin Forerunner 570 costs $549.99 (roughly Rs. 47,100), according to the company.
Both smartwatches will be available for sale in the country via the official e-store starting May 21.

The Garmin Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570 have OLED touch-supported screens with always-on display support. The latter comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The 42mm variant sports a 1.2-inch panel with a 390×390 pixels resolution, while the 47mm model has a 1.4-inch screen with a 454×454 pixels resolution. The Garmin Forerunner 970, on the other hand, sports a Sapphire Crystal 1.4-inch display with a 454×454 pixels resolution.
Both sizes of the Garmin Forerunner 570 option are equipped with 8GB of storage, while the Garmin Forerunner 970 watch has 32GB of built-in storage. The latest Garmin models come with 5ATM water resistance rating. They are compatible with the Garmin Connect app and support Garmin’s Triathlon Coach training plan and custom step-by-step multisports workout routines. Among other health and wellness trackers like heart rate, sleep and stress monitors, the smartwatches carry SpO2, menstrual health, and skin temperature sensors.
Meanwhile, the Garmin Forerunner 970 is built with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens and a titanium bezel. This variant is equipped with an inbuilt torch, which can be controlled directly from the display. It supports an ECG app and a running tolerance tracker, which monitors the “impact each run has on the body” and gives users recommendations for their weekly maximum mileage.
The Garmin Forerunner 970 users can track energy efficiency levels by pairing the new HRM 600 heart rate monitor, which is sold separately. This monitor can measure how much an athlete slows down when their foot hits the ground.
With typical usage, the 42mm Garmin Forerunner 570 is claimed to last for up to 10 days, while the 47mm option can run for up to 11 days on a single charge. The Garmin Forerunner 970 is said to offer up to 15 days of battery life on a single charge.
