Elden Ring is filled with deadly enemies that are always ready to interrupt the journey of the Tarnished through the Lands Between. One of the invaders is Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater, who deals great damage and is certainly one of the most challenging invaders. Players will have to encounter Anastasia multiple times in the game, so it is important to learn the basic tactics that can be effectively used against her. This guide will show players how to beat Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater in Elden Ring.
How to Defeat Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater
Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater, being an invader NPC, will spawn only at particular locations. The first interaction of players with Anastasia will take place in front of the Smoldering Church, which is located at the North of Limgrave. As soon as players try to enter the Church, Anastasia will appear. The other places where players can find Anastasia are Consecrated Snowfields and Corpse Stench Shack at Mt. Gelmir.
The first thing that players should do to defeat Anastasia is to take their time and watch her signature attack patterns. That’s all she has got, and there won’t be anything fancy in her arsenal. However, if her attacks connect, she can deal heavy damage.
One of Anastasia’s attacks includes the back and forth swinging of her weapon, which ultimately ends in the final attack. To survive this attack, players should wait for the sequence to end and then attack her.
When Anastasia is carrying her sword in a horizontal position and coming forward, she will soon use two hands to smash it down. What players need to do here is dodge backward at first and then jump in the air. As soon as Anastasia’s blade touches the ground, launch an attack on her from the top.
Whenever she gets slow and too close, players must run behind her fast and backstab her. In case gamers fail to do that, they can always rely on a short melee weapon to strike her. Do not take her slowness lightly, as she can successfully dodge the ranged attacks from players.
It would be a good idea to use a weapon with a long range against Anastasia. Among early-game weapons, the Lordsworn’s Greatsword has a great reach and can deal a lot of damage. In addition to that, players can consider using sorceries and incantations to deal damage from a distance. Keep in mind that dodging and well-timed attacks are the key to survival in this tough battle.
