Like many other HomeKit makers, elight are announcing case Support for the entire product line. Completed in early October, Matter aims to improve the entire smart home environment using open standards supported by Apple, Google, Amazon and others. The first release of Matter will support many of the most popular smart home categories. Lighting and electrical, HVAC controls, window coverings and shades, safety and security sensors, door locks, media devices such as televisions, controllers as both devices and applications, and bridges.
For the Yeelight line of consumer electronics, Matter Protocol plans to support more products in the future than just the existing product line. In addition to its classic home lighting series, the brand new product portfolio Yeelight Fun has also been added to the Matter devices line-up!
The Yeelight Cube is the new version of our already popular smart lamp lineup and will hit the market soon. Built and designed like LEGO, users can create unique and original lamp designs or change the overall style of their desktops with this interactive device.
Additionally, Yeelight will release a new line of key lighting products for the Home series, including support for Matter. Yeelight Pro just got easier! All products under this selection support Matter with a simple OTA update.
The Matter standard could be a big boon to the smart home market. So if one device is Matter compatible, it is effectively HomeKit compatible as well.
With Apple’s new version of HomeKit in beta, accessory makers no longer need to integrate each smart home platform individually, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Home. Instead of developing separate integrations for each platform, developers can make Matter compatible and then compatible across other major platforms.
It’s rolling out slowly, but I believe it will improve all things “smart home”.
