The Rising anniversary event is back in Final Fantasy 14, and the 2025 celebration rewards players with an all-new minion. While the latest patches have introduced quite a few new minions to Final Fantasy XIV, this one is pretty easy to get.
Like previous iterations of the event, this year’s Rising only features a short questline without any special activities or challenges. If you skip cutscenes, you can get everything done in just a few minutes. Here’s how you can start The Rising 2025 quest in Final Fantasy XIV and claim the Wind-Up Gulool Ja Ja minion.
How to Start The Rising 2025 Quest in Final Fantasy 14
The starting quest for this year’s Rising event in Final Fantasy XIV is called “An Adventurous Ambition.” You can start it by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Limsa Lominsa, Upper Decks (X:11.3, Y:13.7). He’s near the Aftcastle, just a short distance south of the Aethernet teleport point. It’s the same plaza where other seasonal events are held in Limsa Lominsa.
Once you meet the Wandering Minstrel in Limsa Lominsa, you’ll have to complete a short series of quests to get your event rewards. The second quest is called “A Light That Ever Burns,” but it doesn’t involve any combat, either. After a few more cutscenes with the Wandering Minstrel, the Rising storyline for this year will come to a close, and you’ll be rewarded with the Wind-Up Gulool Ja Ja minion.
The Rising event only lasts from Wednesday, August 27 through Thursday, September 11, so make sure you complete these quests before it’s too late. Otherwise, you’ll miss out on the free rewards until they pop up again down the line.
The Rising vendor also carries certain items from previous Rising events, so take a look at their inventory if you’ve missed anything from previous years.
That’s all there is to this year’s Rising event in Final Fantasy 14! It’s a short event like it usually is, but there’s still a ton of content to check out from the game’s most recent update. Patch 7.3 introduced a bunch of new mounts and minions to earn, and there are even more exciting reveals on the way with Fan Fest coming up early next year.
