Star Wars is one of the most popular IPs of all time that needs no introduction. Players love this sci-fi opera and how groundbreaking the original trilogy was, even if the Star Wars IP has been ruined in the eyes of many.

Players with a PS+ subscription can check out some great free Star Wars games on the platform that are fun to play in their own right. From overlooked retro titles to excellent modern games that do justice to the Star Wars IP, there’s no shortage of quality games to find on the platform.

Star Wars: Demolition

A Decent Game With Vehicular Combat

Players who want to check out a fun vehicular combat game set in the Star Wars universe will have a decent time with Star Wars: Demolition. The game is best played in short bursts, since there isn’t a lot of depth to be found here.

Controlling many iconic Star Wars vehicles and wreaking havoc in these dangerous contests is a blast. The novelty of seeing Boba Fett using a jetpack to fight vehicles is hilarious and more than makes up for this title’s faults.

Star Wars Racer Revenge

High-speed racing games have faded out in the industry, which is why fans will be glad to play titles like Star Wars Racer Revenge. Podracing is an easy excuse for players to engage in a bevy of races that are carried out at lightning-fast speeds.

The gameplay loop isn’t too deep, but players looking for a decent podracing game will have a blast with this title. It’s simple, intuitive, and doesn’t waste the player’s time, which is more than what can be said for most modern video game releases.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Controlling Iconic Star Wars Vehicles In Combat Is A Blast

Players who loved The Clone Wars arc will have a blast playing this Star Wars game. For the most part, players control all manner of vehicles in the Star Wars universe, but there are some on-foot sections in the game, too.

Here, players control either Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Mace Windu in high-stakes action sequences. This makes for a simple yet riveting experience that fans of The Clone Wars will have a great time with.

Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace

A Decent Action-Packed Adaptation Of Episode 1

While The Phantom Menace‘s adaptation is far from a perfect video game, this title is very nostalgic for fans. The gameplay allowed players back in the day to fulfill their wildest dreams of wielding a lightsaber and using Jedi powers.

As long as players don’t mind repetitive combat and a lack of enemy variety, they’ll have a blast playing The Phantom Menace. Whether players are reliving their nostalgia or trying to understand why people are so fond of this game, their PS+ subscription will help them enjoy this title’s charms with ease.

Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge

A Great VR Game That Makes The Most Of The Star Wars IP

VR games can be a tough sell at times, especially for PSVR2 headset owners who feel that this hardware isn’t being supported enough by Sony. However, with a PS+ subscription, fans can check out some great virtual reality games to mess around with on the headset.

This includes Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. The base version of this game features a cinematic firefight with some fan service scattered along the way. Meanwhile, the DLC that arrives with the Expanded Edition lets players explore more areas in the Star Wars universe that are great to behold.

Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter

Dogfighting In Iconic Star Wars Starships Feels Great

Players who love the dogfighting in the Star Wars games will have a blast with Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. Once they get the hang of how to fly the spaceship without crashing it, shooting down foes and navigating tricky areas is a blast.

It helps that the game makes an effort to tell a decent story that ties into the series’ lore. Using Force weapons in combat and bringing down enemy ships is a blast, making it clear why fans will love Jedi Starfighter if they give it a chance.

LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy

Another Excellent LEGO Game Set In The Star Wars Universe

The LEGO games have done a great job of adapting several popular IPs and recreating these adventures in an interactive format with the signature LEGO flourish. Star Wars is no exception, with this title allowing players to enjoy a fun adaptation of the original trilogy.

Controlling everyone’s favorite Star Wars heroes in memorable adventures as they take down Stormtroopers and stand against Darth Vader makes for a great time. The inherent charm of this title ensures that PS+ users who love either Star Wars or LEGO will have a blast with this title.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

A Sequel To A Lauded Star Wars Game That Mostly Stuck The Landing

After the success of Jedi: Fallen Order, it was a no-brainer that a sequel would be released for the same. It’s a shame that Jedi: Survivor‘s abysmal PC launch prevented it from reaching the heights it deserved, with the majority of the conversation around launch surrounding this horrendous version of the game.

It’s a shame, since players will love Cal Kestis’ growth as he fights against the tyranny of the Empire. Combat and parkour have been expanded on, with some of the zones in the game being massive and incredible to behold.
