Battlefield 6 Dev Admits One of the Game’s Biggest Problems is ‘Probably Still Going to Be a Little Bit Clunky’ At Launch

A Battlefield 6 developer has admitted that the game’s menus may not address every issue players had with them during the recent beta in time for launch. Some Battlefield 6 fans criticized the game’s in-game UI, and it seems Battlefield Studios is aware of the feedback so far.

Complaints about Battlefield 6‘s menus often center on the fact that it has taken a tile-based approach, which is particularly controller-friendly. However, the end result is something users might typically expect to see from a streaming service like Netflix rather than a video game. At least, that’s how much of the criticism was framed. Many players prefer the vertical menus of old and would like to see them make a return in the new game.

Speaking to PC Gamer, Battlefield Studios’ technical director Christian Buhl confirmed that the development team is “looking at [the] feedback” players gave about Battlefield 6‘s menus, and changes are being made to reflect that. Buhl said, “I can’t say exactly what we’ll fix. You know, we’re not going to rebuild our menu from scratch, obviously, between now and launch, but we are looking to improve [based on] some of the biggest feedback.” There was a lot for the developer to learn from the Battlefield 6 open beta, and it appears the criticism has cut through.

Players shouldn’t expect everything to be solved overnight, though, with Battlefield 6‘s release date just over a month away. Buhl does admit that “it’s probably still going to be a little bit clunky when we launch, but we’re going to continue to improve it going forward.” How large these changes to the menus will be remains to be seen.

battlefield 6 bf6 movement controversy explained

The open beta for Battlefield 6 has been both a blessing and a curse. It has undeniably helped to build some hype for the game, and given Battlefield Studios a better idea of the game’s highlights and flaws. However, it has also potentially exposed some bigger issues, such as Battlefield 6‘s controversial map sizes. It’s worth remembering, though, that the open beta did not feature every map in the final game, so it’s possible this complaint will prove to be overblown on launch.
