Pokemon TCG Pocket has revealed that its newest expansion, Secluded Springs, will be added to the game on August 28. It’s been a busy week for the Pokemon community, with Pokemon GO unveiling some upcoming changes and Pokemon Legends: Z-A revealing a new mega evolution. Now, Pokemon TCG Pocket has joined the fun with the official announcement of its latest booster pack.
Pokemon‘s massively popular deck-building app has maintained a steady pace of new updates since its debut in October 2024. There have been several major Pokemon TCG Pocket updates in August 2025 alone, including a Blissey EX Drop event and an upcoming Lightning-Type Mass Outbreak. Before the month is up, players will get yet another big release in the form of the Secluded Springs expansion.
Secluded Springs Comes to Pokemon TCG Pocket on August 28
The official Pokemon YouTube channel confirmed Secluded Springs’ release date in an August 22 trailer, but the news may not have been a surprise for many fans. Developer DeNa hasn’t had the easiest time keeping things under wraps lately, as many details of recent updates, including Secluded Springs, were leaked before their official reveal. On August 21, Pokemon TCG Pocket accidentally leaked the entire Secluded Springs trailer when the official Korean Pokemon channel uploaded it early before catching the mistake and taking it down. Now that the trailer is back up for good, fans can take a closer look at what they can expect later this month.
In addition to the trailer, the Pokemon Company updated its website to provide more info on the upcoming expansion. As previous leaks revealed, Secluded Springs will introduce Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to the game, as well as other Pokemon from the Pokemon: Gold and Silver games. There will also be a Zoroark Drop Event starting on September 2, a week of bonus events starting on September 6, a Wonder Pick Event featuring Miltank and Phanpy cards beginning on September 13, and a Mass Outbreak beginning on September 24. Unlike Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s series-first July Mass Outbreak, which focused on a single Pokemon, the September event will revert to centering around an entire type, in this case, Water-type Pokemon.
Overall, there’s a lot to look forward to in the update, and more is sure to come down the line. It’s still unclear when Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s promised major overhaul is coming, but DeNa has said it will arrive sometime in 2025.
