Anime Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-off

Most anime end up being popular because of their incredible characters. The amazing work that goes into fleshing out both main and side characters is incredible and goes a long way in helping fans get invested in the action.

In fact, some anime side characters are so riveting that fans wouldn’t mind a spinoff with them as the main lead. Their personalities and backstories go a long way in fueling this demand.

8

Roy Mustang

His Time In The Army Will Make For A Sad Yet Riveting Watch

A State Alchemist with a ton of aura, Roy Mustang is one of the best anime characters of all time. To this day, seeing him incinerate Envy and Lust is incredible and proves that he was the MVP who helped subdue two powerful homunculi.

A spinoff show revolving around his past would be great to witness. His time in the State Military would be far from jovial, but it can serve as a great way to understand how he became so cold, calculating, and ruthless by the time he appears in Fullmetal Alchemist.

7

Armin Arlert

Covering The Story After The Rumbling Could Make For Great Time

After the events of Attack on Titan, the remaining survivors in the world are tasked with rebuilding society. With people like Armin, it’s easy to see why Paradis Island is in safe hands.

In fact, fans may be interested in seeing how this rebuild takes place, even if the cycle of violence repeating is a foregone conclusion. Thankfully, Armin is an interesting character, and seeing the rest of the Survey Corps coming to terms with Eren’s choices can make for a fun watch.

6

Kyojuro Rengoku

The Flame Hashira Deserves More Time In The Spotlight

One of the most important Hashira in the entire series, fans were robbed of Rengoku’s infectious charm in a single arc. Despite his best efforts, Akaza bested the Hashira right before daybreak and made it clear that the Upper Rank Demon Moons are not to be messed around with.

Given his importance in the lives of characters like Mitsuri and Obanai, it’s easy to see why a prequel series detailing Rengoku’s adventures would be such a blast to witness. It’ll be hard to see his father abuse him, but it might help players appreciate Rengoku even more for not letting his positive attitude die out.

5

Kisuke Urahara

Fans Only Got A Glimpse Of His Time In Soul Society And The Events Leading Up To His Excommunication

Bleach may have its issues, but there’s no denying that this anime has some of the most iconic characters of all time. This includes Kisuke Urahara, a cool-headed Shinigami who teaches Ichigo to unlock and wield some of the strongest techniques in his arsenal.

He’s one of the best characters in the series, and the arc detailing his betrayal at Aizen’s hands was criminally short. With Bleach‘s hype being through the roof, fans will love to see Urahara get more time to shine in a spinoff where he carves out his legacy.

4

Jiraiya

His Stories With The Sannin Will Be Riveting For Fans To Witness

To this day, Jiraiya’s death is something that many fans still find hard to stomach. Despite his perversions, he was a good sensei to Naruto and helped his student take major steps on the path to becoming Hokage.

While fans have enjoyed glimpses of his past, a spinoff show detailing his adventures before the events of Naruto would be great to witness. With Minato getting the spinoff treatment, Naruto‘s pull may just ensure that Jiraiya will also benefit from this.

3

L

His Investigations Before The Kira Case Can Make For A Fun Watch

L Death Note

The battle of wits between L and Light is one of the best parts of Death Note by a country mile. While L eventually loses this battle, he lacked the supernatural advantage Light had and still managed to hold his own until his eventual demise.

L had made a name for himself solving several high-profile cases with his wits. Seeing his rise to success in a spinoff would be a blast to witness, ensuring that fans will be more invested in L’s character than ever before.

2

Skull Knight

His History Before The Events Of Berserk Is Something That Intrigues Fans

Berserk is a series full of incredible lore and memorable characters, with the Skull Knight being a notable mention here. This mysterious character saves the survivors of Griffith’s eclipse and is hell-bent on stopping the Apostles with his Behelit Sword.

He’s easily one of the most intriguing characters in the series, and fans would love to see a spinoff where his history is elaborated on. With Miura’s tragic passing, this may be little more than a pipe dream, but fans can still cling to this hope.

1

Satoru Gojo

The Greatest JJK Character Is More Than Worthy Of A Proper Spinoff

A few episodes showing Gojo’s past is nowhere near enough to give fans a taste of this character’s evolution as he became the most powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer in the series. Given how events in the manga play out, fans would love to see this beloved character get more time to shine in a spinoff.

Jujutsu Kaisen‘s popularity is off the charts, and fans will lap up anything that features their favorite character from the show. His charisma and powers are off the charts and will shine in a potential spinoff.
