Fae Farm is coming to PlayStation and Xbox on October 22, Phoenix Labs has revealed. The Canadian studio announced this upcoming wave of ports mere weeks following Fae Farm‘s first anniversary.
Fae Farm is an indie farming sim with combat, romance, and RPG mechanics, which makes it conceptually similar to Stardew Valley. It was originally released for the Nintendo Switch and PC in early September 2023.
Fae Farm PlayStation and Xbox Ports Announced
Phoenix Labs has now revealed that its latest game is coming to even more platforms, having just confirmed it for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The PlayStation and Xbox versions of Fae Farm are scheduled to debut on October 22. That’s also the date when the game will launch on the Microsoft Store. PC gamers have so far only been able to purchase the indie farming sim via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Although its Xbox Store page is still not live, PlayStation users can already pre-order Fae Farm from the PS Store for $29.99.
Fae Farm to Offer Full Cross-Play Across All Platforms
Aside from launching via Nintendo’s eShop, the Switch version of Fae Farm also had a physical release back in September 2023. It is presently unclear whether the upcoming Xbox and PlayStation ports will follow suit. What’s certain is that they will include all of the free post-launch content that Fae Farm has received to date. Likewise, Phoenix Labs confirmed that its farming sim will offer full cross-play support across all platforms. This should facilitate the process of assembling co-op multiplayer parties, which can be up to four players strong in Fae Farm.
Fae Farm‘s two big expansions, Coasts of Croakia and Skies of Azoria, will still be sold separately on PlayStation and Xbox. According to the game’s PS Store listing, these DLC packs will be included in the farming sim’s Deluxe Edition, which will retail for $44.99. Phoenix Labs previously committed to only two post-launch expansions, making it unclear whether the game will receive any more big content additions.
Either way, Fae Farm‘s upcoming ports promise to expand Xbox and PlayStation consoles’ libraries of compelling farming sims. The game itself currently boasts “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam and a “Strong” OpenCritic rating, with the latter being derived from an aggregate score of 75 and a 60% reviewer recommendation rate. Fae Farm previously received a free trial version on both the Switch and PC, though it remains to be seen whether this demo is also on its way to PlayStation and Xbox.
