Key Takeaways
- Despite Dead by Daylight pitting Killers against Survivors, some may choose to try to tame the Killer for a moment of friendship.
- Getting the Killer on the player’s side can make for a fun, chaotic match, but can also be great when everyone needs to farm Bloodpoints.
- Players can drop items as a last-ditch effort to make friends with the Killer for a chance at escape.
Dead By Daylight may be a horror game, but there are plenty of opportunities for fun and mischief. Some of the perks and features in the game give players the chance to have a bit of lightheartedness with other players. There is never any guarantee that a Killer will fall for a player’s charms but it is worth a go, right?
Occasionally, Survivors and Killers decide to have a friendly game where everyone’s goal is to get as many Bloodpoints as possible. This is ultimately the decision of the Killer but there are ways for Survivors to try and tame them. If the Survivors successfully convince the Killer to farm for points, the game can end up as chaotic and hilarious fun.
10 Peekaboo
Works Best With Ghostface
One possible way to tame a Dead By Daylight Killer is to be playful. Peekaboo works really well with The Ghost Face as he can join in by stalking around corners and doorways and crouching under windows. Michael Myers also loves a game of peekaboo but be warned: he likes to pretend to play while stalking.
The Killer Shack is the perfect peekaboo spot. Start off by crouching up and down at the window and then around corners near the doorway. The Killer may join in, or they could take the opportunity to take you down. That’s always a risk when trying to tame a Killer.
9 Photobomb A Mori
Guaranteed To Make The Killer Laugh
There are some great moris in Dead By Daylight, from the gory to the dramatic, but none are as funny as the Ghost Face mori. This is a classic mori to photobomb because he is quite literally taking a photograph of his bloody triumph.
As a Killer, there is nothing funnier than seeing other Survivors swarm the murder scene to try and get into the frame. Moris can be tricky as the animations sometimes clip the surrounding rocks or plants, so when attempting this make sure to position it just right so the Killer gets a good view of everyone.
8 Playing Fetch
Go Get It, Killer!
This trick is only possible with the Adam Francis perk, Diversion. After spending some time in the Killer’s terror radius, players can throw a stone to create scratch marks and divert attention away from wherever they are. Of course, this isn’t always how players use this perk.
The funniest Killer to use this trick with is Demogorgon, or Demo Doggy to his fans. There is something weirdly adorable about his little flower head bobbing up and down, so pleased with himself that he found the pebble’s scratch marks. Since the arrival of The Dark Lord and his wolf form, playing fetch with the Killer has become more popular than ever before.
7 Exposing A Toxic Player
No One Likes A Terrible Teammate
In Dead By Daylight, the Killer isn’t the only potential danger. Other Survivors can make or break a game. There are so many ways another Survivor can throw a match, from being AFK to spending the entire match hopping lockers.
Sometimes, Killers like to punish Survivors who hide the whole time or are otherwise toxic towards their teammates. If a player helps the Killer find the toxic Survivor, there is a chance they will be shown mercy. This usually means tracking them down and exposing whatever locker they are hiding in.
6 Dance Party
Invite The Killer To The Disco
Dance parties in Dead By Daylight can be a fun way to bond with other Survivors. There is even an achievement for Survivors who teabag together in the Killer Shack. But what about the Killer? Do they get an invitation to the ball?
The most fun and effective way to entice the Killer to dance is with The Mastermind (Wesker). After Wesker infects a player, they can search for cans of spray hidden in chests. Rhythmically spraying these will create a funky head-banging action that all Survivors can join in with. No Wesker can resist.
5 Serenading The Killer
Play Them A Quick Tune
Staying in the musical realm, the next tip uses the Aestri Yazar perk, Bardic Inspiration. Any moment a Survivor has the opportunity to serenade the Killer, they can whip out their instrument.
This is a great trick to test if the Killer is open to being tamed. Most of the time they like to listen to your song and play along (Wraith and his bell) or dance and nod. If they are feeling generous, and the Survivor has played well, the Killer may grant the Survivor an escape.
4 Make An Offering Pile
Bonus Points If Heart-Shaped
This trick takes a bit of time and dedication. The easiest way to achieve this is to equip chest aura-reading perks and Elodie’s perk, Appraisal. Survivors should aim to gather as many items as possible and create a heart shape from the pile of offerings.
Once the pile is complete, Survivors will alert the Killer and crouch around the pile, pointing at the items. If the Killer is satisfied with the offerings, they may grant the Survivors their freedom. This works especially well if the group has been cute all through the match.
3 Acknowledging Hook Charms
Show Appreciation And Solidarity
The Dead By Daylight community can be wholesome, and many friendships have been formed through watching streams and playing together. Dead By Daylight has a huge LGBTQ+ following and players like to adorn their hooks with Pride flags to show their solidarity.
Survivors can also wear these charms on their waist. This means they have the opportunity to show the Killer that they either match or that they enjoy their charms. This is a risky move as the Survivor has to get the Killer to follow them, and then point at the hook charms. Just occasionally, the Killer thinks Survivors are pointing to the hook and asking to be sacrificed, which is unfortunate.
2 Leaving A Gift
Will Exchange Items For Escape
This trick to tame a Killer is similar to the offerings pile but, instead, Survivors do this as a last-ditch attempt to make friends. Dropping an item at the Killer’s feet can help woo them, despite the fact they can’t pick it up themselves.
Sometimes, the Survivor can drop an item after the Killer has been friendly, farming Bloodpoints, or offering them the escape. However, often a Survivor tries to bribe the Killer at an unopened exit by dropping the item in the hopes the Killer will allow them to continue to unlock the gate. Does it always work? No. Is it still worth trying? Absolutely yes.
1 Boop The Snoot
Who Is Taming Who?
When The Pig arrived in Dead By Daylight, players realized they could crouch and point to ‘boop’ Amanda’s nose. Soon there became an unwritten rule: if Piggy is crouching and not attacking, Survivors can approach and ‘boop’ to show they are also friendly.
Now, booping the snoot is achievable with Ghost Face and The Dark Lord, but only when he is in wolf form. It doesn’t always grant escape or guarantee a friendly farming match, but that should never stop Survivors from trying. A quick boop is always worth it.
