Area 99 Confirmed As Next Call of Duty: Warzone Map
Although Activision is yet to confirm whether or not Area 99 will be a brand-new battle royale map for Warzone or a smaller Resurgence map similar to the likes of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep, prominent Call of Duty leaker and insider TheGhostOfHope took to Twitter shortly after Area 99’s reveal and claimed that it will be a new Resurgence map and not a large-scale battle royale map. The leaker also noted that Urzikstan will remain in rotation with season one of Black Ops 6 but will feature some new quality-of-life updates to keep the map feeling fresh.
While die-hard Warzone players will need to wait until later this year to go hands-on with the new Resurgence map, multiplayer fans will be able to jump into the first Black Ops 6 beta weekend on August 30 and check out the game’s new omnidirectional movement system, maps, weapons, and much more. Players who pre-order will be able to jump in on the very first weekend, but for those who would rather test out the new shooter before pre-ordering, an open beta will take place from September 6.
