A new teaser trailer for Pokemon GO strongly hints that the ability to use Dynamax and Gigantamax is coming very soon to the popular mobile title. Pokemon GO is a game that is constantly changing, not only due to the available pocket monsters that can appear in a location or the gym battles that pop up in various areas, but with the content that Niantic adds to the experience. Whether through seasons or various updates, Pokemon GO never seems to run out of new things to do.
However, even as the mainline Pokemon titles continue to add new creatures to the ever expanding list, Pokemon GO remains a bit behind as it isn’t yet possible to catch every creature in the mobile experience. While there are always fan favorites that the community continues to request, Niantic manages to add new batches to Pokemon GO each season and through special events. With a new season on the horizon, the Pokemon GO developer has started to tease the latest feature making its grand arrival into the game.

While recent Pokemon GO leaks may have spoiler new features ahead of time, Niantic is now officially teasing new content that should make Generation 8 fans quite happy. A newly released short teaser trailer shows a person playing Pokemon GO, before a massive red portal opens in the sky. Fans of Pokemon Sword and Shield will likely know that this is in reference to the Dynamax and Gigantamax feature, where trainers are able to massively increase their Pokemon’s size and give them new abilities and, on occasion, new forms as well. Naturally, many players have also wondered if the legendary Eternatus will also be making is debut sooner than later when this feature arrives.
Pokemon GO is Adding Dynamax and Gigantamax
While the dynamaxing tease may be new to some fans, this feature accidentally leaked a bit earlier than Niantic would have liked. Leakers and dataminers were first on the scene, discovering that Bulbasaur would be the first Pokemon to be able to Dynamax. However, it wasn’t until a Pokemon GO update added a Dynamax filter icon for captured creatures. In addition, Niantic may have intentionally teased the feature back in July when it released a special 8th Anniversary post, showing a dynamaxed Squirtle right in the center of the image.
However, Dynamaxing isn’t the only new feature coming to Pokemon GO as another new pocket monster will arrive in the near future. Niantic has confirmed that Morpeko will be added to Pokemon GO, adding a dynamic new creature that is capable of switching its type based on the form it’s in. Fully Belly Mode sees Morpeko as an electric-type, while its Hangry Form gives it a Dark-type. Naturally, this may make the little Pokemon difficult to counter since it can change its type, though for now, it doesn’t have a release date yet.
