Hollow Knight: Silksong Price Leaks

Hollow Knight: Silksong will be priced at $19.99, according to a newly surfaced retailer listing that appears to have revealed the information prematurely. The same price tag is expected to apply to all editions of Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Following over half a decade’s worth of development, Hollow Knight: Silksong at last received a release date during Gamescom 2025, when Team Cherry committed to launching it on September 4. However, the Australian developer has not yet commented on the game’s price tag in any capacity.

Premature GameStop Listing Reveals $19.99 Price for Hollow Knight: Silksong

As this radio silence continues, the game’s price tag may have just been revealed regardless via a newly surfaced GameStop listing. As spotted by Reddit user E1338, the American retailer is already accepting pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch version of Hollow Knight: Silksong, priced at $19.99.

A screenshot of GameStop’s product page for Hollow Knight: Silksong prematurely revealing the game’s apparent $19.99 price tag on August 29, 2025.

While Hollow Knight: Silksong was previously confirmed for the Switch 2, the physical release GameStop is currently offering is of the Switch 1 variety, which makes it compatible with both consoles. No other edition of the much-anticipated title is currently listed on GameStop’s website, indicating that this particular page may have gone live prematurely. The stated $19.99 price tag sounds well within the realm of possibility, placing Silksong just $5 above its predecessor. If accurate, it is likely to apply to all versions of the game.

Fighting enemies in Hollow Knight Silksong

At $20 or thereabout, Hollow Knight: Silksong will potentially offer immense value for money. Team Cherry has previously confirmed that the game will include over 200 new enemies, more than 40 bosses, and around 100 benches. Given that the original Hollow Knight included 51 benches, this suggests the sequel’s map may be approximately twice as large, assuming a similar checkpoint density. This aligns with Team Cherry’s previous estimate that the upcoming game could easily take over 100 hours to fully complete (the original Hollow Knight required around 65 hours on average to 100%). One area in particular, Greymoor, is said to be one of the largest singular environments that the Australian developer has ever created.

The 2,158 people who backed the original Hollow Knight Kickstarter campaign in 2014 will receive Silksong at no additional cost. This was already promised to them years ago, as the upcoming metroidvania started out as a campaign stretch goal in the form of DLC. After Hollow Knight achieved tremendous success, resulting in Team Cherry’s long-term financial stability, the three-person studio expanded the concept into a full-fledged sequel. The developer recently said that honoring this Kickstarter promise is also the reason Hollow Knight: Silksong won’t have any reviews at launch, as it does not want anyone to have a chance to play the game before the people who backed the original all those years ago do.
