Pokemon and Build-a-Bear are partnering up again, with the two companies revealing a new Wooloo plush and a jumbo Gengar. The two Build-a-Bear plushes already have release windows, so Pokemon fans should get ready to scoop them up before they disappear.
Pokemon Build-a-Bear creations are almost always extremely popular. The plushes are praised for being high-quality, cute, and for coming with wearable accessories. Gengar has already had a Build-a-Bear, but perhaps due to the ongoing extreme popularity of the Ghost-type Pokemon, this new jumbo variant is being introduced.
Pokemon Wooloo and Giant Gengar Build-a-Bear Plushes Introduced
Pokemon and Build-a-Bear have now revealed Wooloo and a giant Gengar, and fans don’t have to wait long to get them. Wooloo will be sold online via Build-a-Bear’s website starting on August 26. The giant Gengar doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but is aiming for September 2025 according to Build-a-Bear’s website. While both Pokemon are loved by fans, Gengar aficionados should be ready for a potentially fierce fight to get one, as the store listing has been looked at over 4,000 times within the last 24 hours of this story’s publication.
Wooloo will cost $60 USD, which will include the 11-inch plush itself, as well as a headband Wooloo can wear that’s covered in flowers, bows it can wear on the wool tails on either side of its face, and a 5-in-1 sound chip that plays clips of its voice. Gengar, on the other hand, will cost a whopping $149. While not quite a life-sized Pokemon, this version of Gengar is 24 inches tall, making it twice the height of the original Gengar Build-a-Bear that released back in 2021. Like the original version, the jumbo Gengar includes a purple Pokeball coat that it can wear. However, it lacks the sound chip of the smaller version. Interested fans should be aware that due to its larger size, certain shipping options aren’t available, and some options cost more.
Gengar’s enduring popularity will likely mean that its plush will sell out quickly, but fans of Wooloo shouldn’t hesitate to grab one while they’re available, either. Currently, the only other jumbo Pokemon plush available from Build-a-Bear is a Charizard that’s roughly the same height as Gengar. It’s likely that more giant Pokemon Build-a-Bears will be released in the future, so fans who are hoping to see their favorites in this format should keep an eye open.
