The realm of anime is full to the brim with several amazing shows that took over the mainstream in no time. However, some people still deride this form of entertainment for being a bit too questionable at times.

As incorrect as these judgmental people may be, there are times when some moments in anime can be so cringeworthy that fans can’t help but wonder how much better these shows would be without such infamous scenes. While some moments require a fair bit of context to understand why they’re so cringeworthy, other scenes are pretty obviously hard to justify.

Sakura Stating That She Caught Up To Naruto & Sasuke

Fans Couldn’t Help But Laugh At This Declaration

Sakura has always been on the back foot in Naruto, lagging behind the other members of Team 7. Near the end, Naruto and Sasuke are so hilariously broken that only the most legendary ninja in the series stand a chance of surviving against them.

Against this massive power, the Strength of a Hundred Seal technique is nothing. To hear Sakura proudly declare that she’s somehow on equal footing with the duo is ridiculous and just enhances a person’s hatred for her character, which does Kishimoto no favors.

Naruto Farting On Kiba

A Quintessential Naruto Act, But A Cringy One Nevertheless

Naruto

Release Date

October 2, 2002

Network

Adult Swim

While it was nice to see Naruto get the W over Kiba, fans wished that he had convincingly attained this victory. Instead, Kiba’s heightened sense of smell was his undoing when he was near Naruto’s posterior… only for the hero to strain so much that he farted on his face.

This paralyzed Kiba and gave Naruto the opening he needed to perform his combo attack, taking out Kiba for good. It was a cathartic victory that could’ve been more decisive had Naruto just won fair and square.

Yui Calling Asuna And Kirito “Mama, Papa”

As If Fans Needed Another Reason To Hate Sword Art Online

Yui in Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online had a fairly promising start before this isekai anime lost its way, trying to be both a power fantasy and a romance anime in one go. Kirito and Asuna’s relationship feels forced, and nowhere is this more apparent than when they “adopt” Yui.

All of a sudden, a powerful AI program meant to analyze player emotions turned into a child who called his “parents” Papa & Mama in one of the most unearned moments in the series. This just stoked the flames of hatred toward Sword Art Online and ensured that most people wouldn’t check this show out past its first season.

Mineta’s Existence

One Of The Most Hated Perverts In Anime History

Anime is no stranger to its fair share of perverted characters, but these characters aren’t completely irredeemable. Jiraiya is a great example of a character with some perversions who is still likable in other ways.

The same can’t be said for Mineta, who is one of the worst anime characters of all time. His stupid powers don’t make him Class 1-A material, and his perverted attitude is so cringy that fans wonder what he even brings to the show, since he’s not even all that funny.

Mikasa’s Obsession With Eren

The Only Thing Holding Back This Otherwise Strong And Independent Female Character

There’s no denying that Mikasa is one of the most beloved anime characters of all time. She’s a great example of a female character done right who is badass and holds her own… but there’s one aspect of her personality that hampers her, to an extent.

Mikasa is borderline obsessed with Eren, to the point where some of her behavior is cringy and not befitting of her otherwise cold and calculating personality. While her love for Eren was integral for the final arc, her feelings could’ve still been more mature and subtle.
