Escape From Tarkov Confirms 1.0 Release Date

Escape From Tarkov is officially leaving beta with its major 1.0 update coming on November 11. Battlestate Games, the developer of Escape From Tarkov, first opened the game to the public in a limited alpha test back in 2016, with the game later moving to a closed beta in 2017, and remaining in that state since.

Players have to pre-purchase the game to get invited to the closed beta, which receives patches and some new content from time to time. In the beta, there is no full campaign, with each game mode being a round-based extraction shooter with PvP and PvE elements. The gameplay has been praised by some and disliked by others, as its survival elements and tactical FPS gameplay can be very unforgiving, but also very rewarding for those who take the time to master the game’s various elements. While a lot of how the game functions in this beta reflects how the full game will play, a lot more has always been promised to be coming with the game’s eventual full release.

Escape From Tarkov is Finally Releasing Version 1.0

In a YouTube video on Battlestate Games’ official channel, a November 11 release date for version 1.0 was announced. The trailer itself is mostly just for show and to announce the release date, with no actual gameplay from Escape From Tarkov shown. Additional information on what version 1.0 will include has yet to be made public, but many speculate that the game’s main campaign will be included. The official description of the game says it’s a story-driven experience, giving weight to the theory that the 1.0 release will incorporate a main story.

Battlestate Games has announced it will be attending many gaming events over 2025, where it will reveal all sorts of new content for Escape From Tarkov, including PAX West, Tokyo Game Show, Paris Games Week, and G-Star. At the time of the announcement of this tour, the full release of the game had not been revealed, but now it’s clear that these events set the stage for great opportunities to reveal what all players can expect from the 1.0 release.

As of now, there are four editions of Escape From Tarkov that players can pre-purchase ahead of the game’s release. Even the standard edition of the game offers a few in-game rewards for pre-ordering the full game, with more expensive editions giving exclusive rewards. Each of these versions lets players into the closed beta, where they can experience the core gameplay and get some experience before the game’s full launch.
