PS Plus is Losing 7 Games in September 2025

PlayStation Plus subscribers signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers of the service may want to prioritize the seven games leaving in the middle of September. PlayStation Plus loses a batch of games on the same day that new titles are added to Extra and Premium. However, there are some times when Sony shakes things up and PS Plus updates come on unexpected days as well.

For example, The Rogue Prince of Persia was recently added to PS Plus Extra as a surprise game, making an already-stacked month for the service that much more exciting. Prior to The Rogue Prince of Persia being added to PS Plus Extra, the well-reviewed Sword of the Sea was added as a day one release. Premium subscribers, meanwhile, have been able to play both of those games plus more classic Resident Evil titles from the PS1 era.

It remains to be seen what new games will be added to PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025, but more information on that front will most likely come on Wednesday, September 10, with the update coming on Tuesday, September 16. But while we don’t know about the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025, we do know which titles are getting the boot. To date, there are seven games scheduled to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in September, with Dragon’s Crown Pro, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, Pistol Whip, Road 96, The Plucky Squire, and UFC 5 all on the way out.

  • Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
  • Pistol Whip
  • Road 96
  • The Plucky Squire
  • UFC 5

While the games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025 may not cause quite as much disappointment among fans as when big-time blockbusters like The Witcher 3 leave PS Plus, it’s still a bummer to see them go. Vanillaware fans are being hit especially hard by the PS Plus September 2025 game departures, having to say goodbye to Dragon’s Crown Pro and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir.

Those signed up for the priciest tier of PlayStation Plus will have to say goodbye to Pistol Whip, marking yet another virtual reality title being removed from the service. PlayStation VR2 sales haven’t been what Sony hoped for, but it’s still a shame that adopters of the hardware have been consistently losing access to PS Plus VR games this year. In any case, here’s hoping that the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2025 make up for the titles that are on their way out.
