Xbox Game Pass Will Add Tropico 7 on Day One in 2026
Publisher Kalypso Media also confirmed that Tropico 7 will be available on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release in 2026. The game will share many features with its predecessors, continuing the adventures of El Presidente. However, it promises a host of new twists, including terraforming, which allows players to reshape the world.

Although Tropico 7 doesn’t have an official release date yet, it has been confirmed that it will initially be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch port is also likely, though based on the publisher’s past releases, it may arrive sometime after the initial launch. Tropico 6, for example, didn’t release on the Nintendo Switch until two years after it launched on PC.
One detail that makes Tropico 7 an exciting addition to Xbox Game Pass is its high replayability. The developer says the seventh installment will include 25 main and optional sandbox maps, plus a random map generator that can provide endless content. Tropico 7 will also enhance the military and political systems to deepen the city management experience for players. As for the story, a new nemesis will compete with El Presidente, and Victoria Guerra has been announced as the main villain of the upcoming installment, though little is known about her beyond her name and appearance. Penultimo, the series’ beloved deuteragonist, will also play a key role, as shown in the announcement trailer.
Tropico 7 is not the only day-one game confirmed for Game Pass in 2026. Microsoft recently announced that High on Life 2 will also join Xbox Game Pass on its global release day, expected to be February 13, 2026. High on Life is a sci-fi FPS franchise with a comedic theme featuring talking weapons. Its first installment has already been added to Microsoft’s gaming service twice, most recently in July 2025.
