This article contains spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has given the fans some incredible content over the last year, and it goes without saying that this story is only going to get better as time goes on, especially when the old legends, such as Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha return.

Fans know for a fact that they will eventually come back, and when they do, the author will most definitely give them exciting battles. Naruto Uzumaki, in particular, has a big power-up lined up for himself in the future, and it might actually be a powerful Kekkei Genkai feared by many. Kishimoto has already set up Naruto gaining Wood Release, but whether he will use it or not remains to be seen.

Naruto’s Return Could Be Soon In Boruto

  • The Shinju Will Fall Soon In Boruto
  • Naruto Will Return After Boruto Vs Kawaki

Boruto fans know very well that Naruto Uzumaki’s return is inevitable. At some point later down the line, Naruto absolutely has to return, and it’s actually already implied that Naruto won’t return too far into the future. For starters, Naruto Uzumaki isn’t going to return before the Shinju fall. This is already clear from the prologue of the story. Secondly, fans also know very well that Naruto Uzumaki won’t return before the Boruto vs Kawaki fight happens. At this point in the story, Kawaki threatens to send Boruto to the same place where he sent Naruto, which highly implies that he’s still there. As such, Naruto Uzumaki is still sealed away.

You should’ve been trained by Dad. Guess it’s too late now. — Boruto to Kawaki

Given how quickly the Shinju are falling, however, it is highly likely that Naruto will return soon. The Shinju won’t last more than 10-15 chapters in the story, and then, the battle between Boruto and Kawaki will begin. At the earliest, Naruto should be back in 20 more chapters.

Naruto Should Gain Access To Wood Release

The Basis Has Been Set By Kishimoto Himself

Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands

When Naruto Uzumaki returns, he won’t have access to Kurama, and fans know that for a fact. However, there are other abilities that Naruto has that he can and should be using. Among them is also Wood Release. As fans know, Wood Release is incredibly powerful, but it’s a Kekkei Genkai, meaning it can’t be learned. That said, Naruto has Hashirama cells, and he knows both Earth and Water Release. Kishimoto himself has set the basis for Naruto Uzumaki to be able to perform Wood Release, and that can only mean one thing: if Ikemoto wants it, Naruto Uzumaki can easily use Wood Release upon return, and coupling it with his Sage Mode, he can become a monster.

Naruto Could Gain A New Power

Naruto should also still have the chakra of the Tailed Beasts in him. Sure, he has lost Kurama, but all the others should still be there, and that also highly implies that Naruto’s next power-up will once again make him reliable and give fans some amazing action. All fans need to do is wait for him to come back, and then hope that Ikemoto doesn’t forget what abilities Naruto gained in the original series.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 26 is set for its official release on September 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
