Black Ops 6 Zombies: Hardest Dark Ops Challenges

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 holds specific Dark Ops challenges for Zombies players that will see them unlock unique and secret calling cards to showcase their mastery of skills among friends and other players in online modes. Black Ops 6 Zombies doesn’t have the easiest set of Dark Ops challenges, but they are fun to earn.

Some of the hardest Dark Ops challenges in Black Ops 6 consist of surviving without a zombie touching you or reaching a round within the triple digits that would make any survivor feel safe with a player like that in their squad for a game of Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Updated on August 14, 2025, by Jake Fillery: Black Ops 6 Dark Ops challenges are exclusive to the Zombies mode, and each of them provides XP and a Calling Card. For players who want to earn the rarest Calling Cards in Black Ops 6 Zombies, they might want to know how to do so, and what better way than by checking out the hardest BO6 Dark Ops challenges that could cause some grief and hardships along the way?

14

Involuntary Harm

Get an Uber Klaus Core to Explode an Uber Klaus

The newest Dark Ops challenge, as of Season 5, requires players to play on Reckoning and get 2 Uber Klaus Elite enemies at the same time, where they will need to weaken one to the point where he is one-shot, while the other has been destroyed out of the mech suit and becomes an Uber Klaus Core. In this state, weaken the Uber Klaus Core until it glows blue and is ready to explode, and then make it detonate itself at the Uber Klaus to cause the destruction of its mech suit. It’s not overly hard, but it does require a high enough round for there to be 2 Uber Klaus enemies at once, and requires players to risk it all by getting too close to an explosive enemy.

Apex Prey

Ride the Z-Rex and Kill it with a Melee Hit

fighting the z-rex

Apex Prey is easily one of the hardest Dark Ops to achieve, simply because the Z.Rex holds strong as one of the strongest boss fights. Players will need to head into Shattered Veil with their best loadout at the ready, and then, they will need to ride the Z.Rex and finish it off with a melee strike. Getting the Z.Rex weak enough is a challenge in itself, due to the Z.Rex growing in aggressive with each phase, but it’s also going to be incredibly difficult to ride the Z.Rex, since players have to wait for a tail slam that makes the player jump up, where they can land on the Z.Rex’s back to then spam the melee button.

Grief Goat

Win 115 Grief Matches

Black Ops 6 Zombies - Grief

Grief is the permanent game mode added to Zombies, which sees 2 teams of players compete against each other to survive. This 4v4 mode has players battle to see which is the last team standing, and this Dark Ops requires players to win a total of 115 matches. 1 match alone lasts an absurd amount of time, and with a rather loyal player base in Grief, players are going to have to expect to spend a long, long time per match. Not only will these matches last so long, but players need to win 115 of them, which might not be super difficult, but it is going to take days, if not weeks, to complete, along with plenty of patience.

11

Of Legend

Defeat the Guardian Using Only a Sword

citadelle des morts boss fight

The Of Legend Calling Card requires players to defeat the Guardian using only a sword. If players even use anything else, like a lethal equipment, or a rogue bullet to hit the Guardian, then this Dark Ops fails and players must start again. The Guardian is the final boss of the Citadelle des Morts easter egg, so reaching here in itself is quite the journey, but even when taking in only your favorite sword along with perks like Melee Macchiato, players are still going to have a difficult time ahead. We recommend using the Solais Lion Sword, as once it’s charged up, players can get armor back with every swing. That, with Melee Macchiato’s Vampiric Extraction Augment, means players will be able to repeatedly swing the sword to get both health and armor.

Dark Journey

Earn Nebula Camo on 33 Weapons

nebula camo on the gs45

Acquiring Nebula on any weapon is a grind, but on 33 of them? Players need to dedicate some serious time to get this challenge completed, especially when they basically need to get Mystic Gold on every gun, then Opal, then Afterlife, and finally, Nebula. This is going to take roughly 2,700 kills per gun when one accounts for headshots, hip-fire challenges, and elite/special zombie challenges.

This means that with 33 weapons and no slip-ups, players will kill almost 90,000 zombies just to get this challenge done, whereas for most matches, players will barely get one gun to Mystic Gold, let alone 33 to Nebula, due to the harsh requirements.

9

Fatale

Kill 2 Amalgams with a Single Shot

the amalgam feeds

Amalgams are perhaps the toughest of the Elite Zombies featured, and they can certainly be terrifying, powerful, and annoying all in one, much like how the monster itself is an amalgamation of many zombies all in one. Yet, to achieve this Dark Ops, players must kill 2 Amalgams with the same shot, which can be very frustrating to pull off.

Multiple Amalgams do not begin to spawn until after round 20+, and even so, they are pretty fast and can regain health by eating other zombies, so trying to get them both to one-shot is very difficult. However, perseverance is key, as is a Pack-a-Punched Cigma rocket launcher, or even a hard-hitting LW3 Sniper.

8

Quest Complete (Early)

Complete Main Easter Eggs Before the Release of Directed Mode

the sentinel artifact arrives at the tomb

Completing one of the Main Easter Eggs available in Black Ops 6 Zombies is no easy task, nor is it an easy task on any of the previous COD Zombies titles. However, what is known about them is how intricate and fun they are, and how rewarding it is to be one of the few people who have actually joined such a small club of players who have achieved victory within these maps.

When a map first releases, players have a chance to jump in and try to complete the easter egg, which comes at a time when the strategy is perhaps not the most refined, and there are a few nerfs needed for a successful encounter. However, those who dare the challenge and complete it are rewarded with a calling card with a golden skull, but these are limited-time challenges until Directed Mode releases.

7

Social Distancing

Reach Round 20 Without Taking Any Damage

using the frenzied guard field upgrade

Social Distancing has a pretty tough requirement ahead, as players need to somehow reach Round 20 without getting hit once. That’s not an easy feat by any means, especially on Terminus, where Parasites will spit acid, and across all maps where Manglers shoot a tracking blast from their cannons.

Acquiring Social Distancing isn’t easy, but Liberty Falls is perhaps the best chance players will have due to its open spaces. Try to focus on getting through rounds with scorestreaks to avoid actually being on the ground for combat, and focus on devastating weapons like the Sally & Forth for hard hits on enemies before they can get too close.

6

Good Enough

Reach Round 20 With Your Starting Loadout and No Augments or Upgrades

starting loadout in zombies

Good Enough is a pretty ruthless Dark Ops challenge that will require players to reach Round 20 with nothing but their starting loadout. That also includes not having a single Augment, nor using any Perk-a-Colas, any Ammo Mods, or any Field Upgrades—the bare basics only.

For Good Enough, try to bring a weapon like the GS35, as although players cannot get PhD Flopper, they can still maintain distance and shoot their enemies. It’s also a good idea to build the Jet Gun to suck up hostile zombies instantly and remember, it’s still okay to buy armor.

5

Kunoichi

Kill 3 Zombies, 2 Special Zombies, 1 Elite Zombie, With 1 Aether Shroud’s Void Sheath

aether shroud field upgrade

Kunoichi is going to require players to use the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade, and with it, to kill 3 zombies, 2 special zombies (Manglers), and 1 elite zombie (Amalgam or Abomination) all in one go, which, with regular use of Aether Shroud, that’s just 8 seconds.

However, this is relatively easy to get with the right setup. Firstly, it’s best to do this in Terminus as the Amalgam can be hit with melee weapons as opposed to the hulking monster of the Abomination in Liberty Falls. Now, players should have Melee Macchiato and their melee weapon upgraded with Pack-a-Punch, to then activate Aether Shroud and extend its timer through Void Sheath to kill a total of 6 enemies.
