8 Hardest RPGs To 100%, Ranked

Role-playing games are usually titles that take a while to complete and are full of content. This means that players who want to seek out 100% completion in these titles will have their work cut out for them.

Some of these RPGs are notorious for featuring such hard 100% challenges that most players are better off giving up on this endeavor. If players are stubborn about completing everything possible in these games, then they must strap themselves in for a long time and prepare to get bored, frustrated, or both.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon

Like Most Other Games In The Series, 100% Completion Is A Nightmare

Every Yakuza game features a whole host of minigames that players can access, and Like a Dragon is no exception. Players will love singing karaoke, watching movies with their friends, and completing exams (no, seriously), among other things.

However, Yakuza: Like a Dragon also features the dreaded gambling minigames that are a massive pain to deal with. Learning to play mahjong or oichi-kabu can be a rigorous ordeal that players may not want to deal with, especially since they have to win multiple games after just getting a hang of things.

Hades

The Challenge Level Keeps On Escalating As Runs Become Harder To Deal With

Released

September 17, 2020

The challenge in Hades slowly ramps up and is a major part of what makes the game so special. Players must traverse multiple layers of hell in a bid to break out into the surface world, only to find that Zagreus’ father is less than enthused about his escapes and places several challenges in his way.

Combat is fast-paced, engaging, and forces players to master the moveset of every weapon they bring into a run. This is imperative if players want 100% completion, since the highest echelon of the difficulty modifiers in the Pact of Punishment is no joke and will force players to bring their A-game.

6

Stardew Valley

100% Completion Is Time-Consuming

Most people will be surprised to see Stardew Valley here. The title is a calm farming sim with RPG elements, and the last thing players expect is for 100% completion to be a major chore in this title.

However, the fact is that time is precious, and Stardew Valley demands a lot of it if players want to complete everything possible. Players have to play this game for hundreds of hours, farming numerous crops and completing numerous challenges across the seasons, before they can finally reach this torturous goal.

Tales Of Graces F

Maxing Out The Eleth Mixer Is Mind-Numbing

Tales of Graces f is a great entry in the series fans love, but players who achieved 100% completion in this title don’t have nice things to say about the experience. While completing most of the things required for full completion is decent, things get ugly when the Eleth Mixer comes into the fray.

This grind to max out the Eleth Mixer to 9999 is nothing short of a chore and will make players hate this game by the end of it. Players are pretty much forced to use exploits to make this goal easier to achieve, since trying to max out the Eleth Mixer legitimately will cause them no end of grief.

4

Dark Souls 3

The Grind For All The Covenants Is Ridiculous

Dark Souls 3 is a fitting end to a trilogy that fans love. It’s also the most punishing FromSoftware game where players can tackle 100% completion, which says a lot given this studio’s infamous reputation.

Players will hate the achievements regarding Covenants, forcing them to go on a spree of ungodly farming activities where they are totally reliant on RNG to make the grind easier. Sometimes, players will luck out… but, more often than not, players will have to retread the same ground and kill the same enemies over and over and over again before they finally get just one unit of the item that they need to farm multiple copies of.

3

Final Fantasy 10

Maxing Out The Sphere Grid Is A Pain

The Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy 10 is one of the best leveling-up systems fans can enjoy in an RPG. However, if players want to tackle 100% completion, then the sight of this grid will sicken them, after a point.

This is because one of the game’s achievements involves maxing out the Sphere Grid, which takes an ungodly amount of time, given that most players will barely complete the character’s pre-ordained path on the grid if they pursue the main story. Along with this, there’s also the fight against Penance and the trials in the Monster Arena that players must tackle, which are no joke.

Loaded With So Much Content That 100% Will Take Hundreds (If Not Thousands) Of Hours

Any MMORPG is bound to be a pain to reach 100% completion in, and The Elder Scrolls Online is no exception. The game is constantly being updated with content, to the point where trying to fight every enemy, find every collectible, and complete every quest can be nothing short of a nightmare.

Only the most dedicated Elder Scrolls players should even think about going down the 100% completion route. Other players should just play this game casually to preserve their sanity.

Diablo 2: Resurrected

Grinding A Character To Level 99 On Hardcore Mode Is A Tall Order

The requirements for 100% Diablo 2 are ridiculous. For starters, players must finish a playthrough on hard mode with each class, which means that players must spend around 30 to 40 hours across 21 playthroughs.

However, the worst part about this grind is that players must max out a character’s level to 99 in Hardcore Mode. This is where most players give up on 100% completion, with only the most dedicated players being capable of accomplishing this ridiculous feat.
