Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition is coming to the Switch on October 28. Aside from Nintendo’s hybrid console, the improved version of the 2015 psychological horror game is also scheduled to reach mobile devices on that date.
Its mobile ports are far from unexpected, not least because the game was originally exclusively available on smartphones and tablets, having debuted on the iOS App Store in April 2015 as Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities. It then received an enhanced Definitive Edition in April 2018, which also reached the Google Play Store in October of the following year. Ever since its release, Forgotten Memories has been touted as one of the best horror games for smartphones and tablets.

Forgotten Memories Remaster Gets a Release Date
Canadian Developer Psychose Interactive is now preparing for yet another re-release of its popular horror game, having just announced that Forgotten Memories will be getting a remaster on October 28. Apart from mobile devices, the Remastered Edition of the 2015 title will also launch on the Nintendo Switch. This will be a digital-only release, available only via the eShop. No pricing information has yet been attached to the project. Forgotten Memories: Definitive Edition currently retails for between $3.99 and $4.99 on mobile devices, and doesn’t have any kind of microtransactions.
Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition Promises Better Visuals, New Difficulty, and More
Much like the 2015 original, Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition promises a treat for fans of survival horror games looking for an unnerving experience inspired by classics such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The revised version of the game will feature improved visuals, including new lighting and particle effects, as well as higher-resolution textures and more detailed character models. The music and sound effects have also been remastered for the project, which also reworks enemy AI and animations. A new “Insane” difficulty setting will be part of the package as well, together with achievements, UI improvements, and better localization, among other novelties.
The upcoming remaster has been in development for over a year, with Psychose Interactive originally announcing it back in August 2023. On that occasion, the Canadian studio also revealed that it was working on a Forgotten Memories sequel. While not much is known about this project yet, Psychose previously revealed that the game will feature bigger levels and a new art direction.
Seeing how Forgotten Memories is still widely regarded as one of the best mobile horror games ever made, fans of the genre shouldn’t sleep on this upcoming remaster. Its pre-orders are scheduled to open on October 25, three days ahead of the game’s multi-platform release.
